PINK SATURDAY & VALENTINE TREE Jan. 22, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday. It's so cold here in West Virginia, down to 6 already tonight and going lower. I am so ready for spring! Thank you all so much who come to visit me and leave such nice comments. I enjoy your comments I really appreciate your taking the time to do that!

We had snowstorm overnight so another snow day off from school for me, finished putting my Valentine tree up and I thought I'd share the pinkness with you.
I'm still painting and de-stashing my sewing room. It's coming out so pretty! I can't wait to share the pictures with you.

Holly Hobbie that I cross stitched years ago. I just love her!

A little Februay pillow I made a few years ago.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I will be by to see you all, sometimes I make my visits throughout the week, not just on Saturday. I wish a peaceful week for you!
Love, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY JAN.15,2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants.

This week I started pulling out my Valentine decorations. I had two snow days off from school this week and two days off last week. I started painting my sewing room, what a job that is turning out to be. I'll share pics when I'm done.

Below is a cute little cross stitch that I bought at a Flea Market and made into a little wall hanging quilt.

A peek at what we have been looking at here in WV since December 1st.
I can't decorate my front porch for Valentine's Day because the Christmas decorations are frozen, can't budge them!

Believe it or not this is the farm road through my farm going back to my daughter and son's homes.

A cute little pearl heart with fabric rose that I made last year.

Valentine wreath on my front door.

Isn't she sweet?

A few close-ups of my Valentine tree, I'm not finished with it yet so I will post pics next week of the whole tree.

My old green chair in the foyer.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you! I hope you all have a wonderful week!
I wish you peace! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY Jan. 8, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound. If you stop by to see her you can get a list of all the other participants.

I always love the first of the year so I can put out my new calendars. I choose them with care, and never throw them away. I have been saving them for the past 40 years that my husband and I have been married. Since getting into altered art I now use them for creating.

Below is January in my Sandy L. Claugh calendar.

Love it!!!!! This one will be going in my sewing room as soon as I'm done painting and decorating it.

The 2nd one I bought this year is not pink but I thought you'd like to see it. I love, love, love Goose-berry Patch. There designs are just so warm and cozy!

Here's January, how cute. ~~~~"Dream away a Cozy day"~~~~~~

Have you ever picked up a newspaper or store ad and found it just to darn cute to throw out in the trash? I just love this picture on the cover of The Country Register I picked up a few years ago. It's still hanging around in my craft room, I have to find something to do with it. Just such a dreamy cozy scene. I love plaid and roses together.

Below is how this four-some spent New Year's Eve. Believe me this is a rare moment for them! Usually they are the terror of this house. As you can see I have to keep my couch's covered with quilts. LOL

Lady J and my son's cat Boots played so hard all day. I'm so glad they finally settled down. LOL

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was great to visit with you. I hope you have a wonderful week!
Blessings to you, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & HAPPY NEW YEAR Jan. 1, 2011

Hello and Happy New Year to you and your family! I wish you peace, health, and happiness in the New Year!

Today Beverly asked us to post about our plans for the New Year. My husband and I plan a quiet New Year's Eve. I made some snacks and my Grandsons stopped in, we had a nice visit with them.
New Year's Day I'm making a ham with all the trimmings, we plan to spend the day relaxing.

We've had alot of snow here in WV and living in the country our roads were not plowed for quit some time. I finally ventured out on Wed. this week. I stopped in the Hallmark Store and got the cutest things with some of my Christmas money, all at 50% off.

I got this cute littel Bearington Bear. I love her wool dress with velvet trim.

Beautiful painting on canves, the snow in the trees and ground has glitter but does not show up in this picture. It's a beautiful scene.

A cute little wool and felt pillow. Perfect for my country family room.

A cute little containter made from wool and embroidery. Not sure what I will fill it with, maybe some nice holly or evergreens. I'll have to keep my eye out for something pretty.

I made the cute little snowman pillow below for a gift exchange. The little snowman was man from dryer sheets. I was so pleased with how cute it came out.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I wish you a Happy New Year!

PINK SATURDAY, DEC. 25, 2010

I hope your Christmas is filled with peace, joy and happiness!

Since Pink Saturday is on Christmas Beverly wanted us to post about our plans for the day.

My husband and I are planning a quiet day at home. I'm roasting a turkey breast and all the trimmings to go with it.

My son Bob is in Afghanistan and he called already, he's about 10 1/2 hours ahead of us so it was Christmas for him already. I am so happy to say that his unit is packing up already, he will start his journey home in the first part of Jan. and should be home here buy the first part of Feb. I'm not letting my guard down but I am just so darn excited to know that he will soon be out of that danger. I would feel so helpless if he were hurt or sick over there and I could not get over there to him. Anyway this sad year of his being deployed is almost over. I appreciate all your prayers and concern for him!

Above and below is a pic of my Mother's Goebel angels, a few weeks back I shared with you a pic of the Nativity pieces that she had collected by Goebel. Below her angels are watching over my grandsons football pictures. LOL

My cozy kitchen windows!

Some jadeite on my old pine shelf.

Our cozy country Christmas kitchen.

Thank you so much for stopping by, Merry Christmas to all!
Christmas Blessings! Shirl
