PINK SATURDAY March 26, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments about my medical problem. I'm slowing down alot since my problem with my heart. Taking time for me and I'm stopping to smell the roses! LOL

I went back to part time work and it's working out alot better for me. The money was good working full time but money is not everything. LOL

Today for my pinkness I'm starting to get my Easter decorations out so I thought there is enough pink in here to count for Pink Saturday.

Cute little Easter placemats for my kitchen island.

A cross stitched basket I made about thirty years ago. Still love it!

My little Thomas Kincade FTD house. Lights up too! Love it!

Some close ups.

The back is adorable too!

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I'm looking forward to visiting you all this week!

PINK SATURDAY & What a difference a day makes! March, 18, 2011

What a difference a day makes.
Last Friday I was driving to work, all my sewing supplies in the car because I was to attend a weekend quilt retreat after work. My heart started racing, my arms and lips went numb. I started to black out, reached up and hit the On-Star Emergency button. They called an ambulance, dialed my husbands office and dialed my work. They were fabulous and I won't be without them.
I was diagnosised with A-Fib, on heart meds and blood thinners. My how your life can change in one moment.
Thankful to be alive. Meds are making me so tired, Cardiologist says I will get used to them and I won't be so tired. I'm going back to work Thursday. Hoping I can make it through the day.

I've joined facebook and would love to have you join me. Please click HERE and friend me on facebook. My user name is Shirley Wunschel Hubbs.

Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event. If you go to visit Beverly of How Sweet the Sound you can get a list of all the other participants.

Miss you all! Hope to get back to posting regular now. Going to have to slow down a bit and take time for Shirl!!!!

PINK SATURDAY & OUR HERO IS HOME

NO PINK THIS WEEK!!! Sorry! You can find some pink here with Beverly!

Our hero is home!!! Welcome home Bob! You will never know how much you were missed. We are so proud of you! Thank you God for keeping him safe!

I want to thank all my blogging friends for all your thoughts, prayers and comments during this past year. You don't know how much of a comfort they were to me! I will always be greatful! I feel like I can finally breath now that he's home!
I'm posting some pics today and a friend took some at that airport of all of us together but I have not caught up with her to get them yet. I will post them later.

As you can see in the pic above Bowser was very happy to see Bob! They are buds!

Above is the flag I made to welcome Bob home at the airport.

Our hero! We love you Bob!

Bob and a good friend from our town that he was deployed with.

Bob shaking hands with the Governor. He shook hands with every soldier.

Signs at the airport.

The last formation before the were released!

That little white speck in the sky was our first sighting of his airplane.

Here's the plane on the ground.

Oh happy day!!!!!

Some of you might remember when I purchased this cute little plate at a Flea Market. I had it on a shelf above my kitchen sink. Everytime I looked at it I sent up a prayer for my son.

Well I packed that one away now and have out my cute little happy cottage front porch plate. Now I look and that and send up a prayer of thanks for bringing my son home. This porch is so me, just a little peaceful place to be with family and friends.

Thank you all for stopping by and thank you so much for your prayers and friendship.

PINK SATURDAY & VALENTINE BLESSINGS Feb. 12, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event!

I've missed you all, I've had so much going on here that I have not posted for the past two weeks. We had a major snow storm and our power was out for five days. My husband and I watch "Little House on the Praire" every evening after dinner and we love it, but let me tell you after going without power that long, I don't envy their life style at all! We have a generator but it only gives us two plugs so you have plug and unplug constantly. This was one happy gal when our power came back on. LOL

I also fell and hurt my back and my knee. The pain in my knee is not letting up so I guess I'm gonna have to give up and go to my Dr. to see what's up with it.

My son is on his journey home from Afghanistan. He should be in Wisconsin on Sunday and home in WV by the 18th. Hopefully by the time I post again we will have him back home with us.
It's been a long year and we are so thankful that he has made it through so far. Still holding our breath until he is safe at home.

For my pink this week I have a few more of my Valentine decortaions. A little cross stitch kitten all decked out in hearts and roses.

My kitchen window sill.

A little cross stitched goose in a candlestand that my daughter Jen painted roses on.

I painted these little figurines in the 70's, I still treasure them.

Another cross stitched Valentine.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was great to visit with you. Good Lord willing my son will be home next week and I'll have some coming home pics.
Blessings, Shirl
