PINK SATURDAY & HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Hello and welcome to A Valentine Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Please go to visit her and you can get a list of all the other participants.

Please pray for Beverly, I just found out that she is in the hospital with gallbladder surgery. Prayers to you Beverly. I hope by now you are resting comfortable!

Today Beverly asked us to show something related to Valentine's Day so I've posted a few of my favorite Valentine's.
Above is a very old pic of my sweet little Angel, she was only about three years old when this pic was taken. She used to pose really pretty for my ebay auctions back then. LOL

It's been snowing here since last week when I posted and what a week it has been. Last Friday night when I was trying to put up my pink saturday post my electric kept going off and on and I finally gave up and just posted my blog as it was and went back in and edited on Saturday when my husband got the generator up a running. I had spelling mistakes, links not added, Oh my gosh what a mess it was. It took me over 7 hours to upload pics because of the snow and I was just to tired to fool with it any longer. Of couse it was at a time when I had alot of early visitors, oh well, I'm sorry for any mistakes that were on here at the time you read it.

School was cancelled all week except for one day. Our electric was out for 3 days, our generator broke. You have no idea how thankful I am to have electric!!!LOL I've heard there are still some people in Penna. and WV that do not have electric yet. How hard it must be for them. We are lucky enough to still have gas when our electric is out so we had heat and were able to cook.

Now on to more Valentine Pinkness! Below is my Valentine tree, which I showed you before but love it enough to post it again.

Another favorite Valentine for me is my shelf over my couch. I decorated it all up with vintage Valentines and Hankies which is an idea that I borrowed from my friend Deb of Garage Sale Gal. If you've not been to her blog treat yourself to a visit with her. She is so creative! Finds the greatest flea market finds. It's always a treat to visit her.
Next I have a few pics of my porch this Valentine's Day. I leave my blue spruce and roses in the window boxes that I put in at Christmas time and add some hearts and red bows for Valentine decorating.

I just made this pretty pearl heart this week. I bought the heart, added the pink bells and made a rose using a new fabric rose making kit that I purchased at JoAnn's fabric store. Pearls are a favorite of thing of mine.
A close up.
I had gotten a special order to make Valentine tags. I loved how they came out and thought I'd share them with you. So here they are.

On Saturday my husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. He surprised me with this beautiful bracelet. We were snowed in so we could not go out for dinner, we stayed home and had a delish homemade dinner of beef stew & dumplin's by candlelight.

Update on our deer that we have been feeding~~~ See the little one in the front holding her leg up? Well that poor deer, had a badly broken leg when we first started feeding her. It looked like a really bad break and just kind of dangled. We thought she would have to be put down but had hoped and prayed that with us feeding her she might stand a chance. Well it must have helped because she can now put pressure down on her leg. Oh I just can't tell you how happy I am about that!
In this pic they were headed up to the porch to let us know they were waiting to be fed.

Here comes the food little ones!!!!!!

Well that's it for this week. I will be back on Sunday with my Amour Valentine Swap. Can't wait to share my gifts with you, my swap partner really spoiled me.
Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I really enjoy sharing my life with you all! Really a blessing to this gal that lives in such a rural area!!
Blessings to everyone! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & VALENTINE DECORATING

Hello and welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by the Sweet Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the participants.

We are having a major snow storm in WV today. No school yesterday because the storm was supposed to start with ice. I'm enjoying a long weekend with my surprise day off and I did some decorating that I'd like to share that with you.

Below are some decorating pics from my living room. Please feel free to click on the pic so you can get a closer look. My daughter Jen is on the left and my son Bob is on the right. Bob deploys on Feb 21st for Afganistan. I'm trying very hard to not let this get me down. I'll just start counting the days until he comes home. I always try and look for the good in everything, this is gonna be a hard one.

Some close ups.
My cute little vintage Nancy Ann doll that I dressed up for Valentine's Day.

A shelf over my couch that I decorated up for the holiday. I got the idea of using hankies on a mentel shelf from my friend Deb at Garage Sale Gal. She has the cutest things on her blog.

Some close ups.
My daughter Jen made me this pretty flower arrangement several years ago when she was working at the local florest.

A few cross stitch pillows that I have made over the years.
A close up.

Another corner in my living room. The picture on the right is my Mom and Dad on their wedding day. The one on the left in my Mom taken in the 70's.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I'll be back next Saturday with a Pink Saturday and also on Sunday Feb. 14th for my Amour Valentine Swap.
Blessings to ya! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you visit her you can get a list of all the other participants. Oh what pinkness you will find there!

As you can see from the pic above we had more snow in WV this week. It was a cold and windy snow and coverd the table on my porch. My porch does not usually take the elements like this. I can put quilts and needlework out there and it's not usually affected.

Now on to some pinkness. You might remember my Fenton vintage shoe that I made into a pincushion. I sell them HERE in my ETSY SHOP. I was using one of these at my quilt guild and some friends and asked me if I could make some of their vintage treasures into pincushions. Of course I said yes, and I'd thought you'd like to see the finished results.

The one below is mine, I started making them 2 years ago and make them in any color and type shoe I can find.

Below is one that I made for my friend. She had this pretty swan from her husband's Aunt that she wanted to have made and keep for her Granddaughter.
I made the little pins using Swarovski crystals.

The next two are not pink but I thought you like to see them. Look how cute. I wanted to make her some pins using Mary Engelbreit beads but never got to a store that sold them. When I do I will make her some. These are made in vintage 40's plastics.

Below is a pretty special order tag that I had an order to make. Still have 8 more to make on this order.

Look how cute this little fella is. He's not mine, but he thinks he lives here. Has made himself quite at home! He found his way in through the dog door. Tomorrow my husband is taking the dog door out and putting in a new one that locks and only the dog can open it with her magnetic tag on her collar. We had a raccoon come in this winter and that's a little too much for me. She was a very nice raccoon and made herself at home too. We trapped her and her babies and relocated her further out into the country.
This cat actually belongs to my son who lives about 1/2 mile back into my farm. He seems to like Grandma's house!

That's all my pinkness for today. Thank you so much for stopping by! It was so nice to visit with you! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I'll be crafting and decorating this weekend. Were supposed to get more snow and it's a cold 6 degrees right now so it will be a good time to stay home craft and make a big pot of soup!
Blessings to ya! Shirl
