PINK SATURDAY, BLUE MONDAY & A PEEK AT CHRISTMAS

Hello I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! Ours was wonderful!
I've had a busy and fun week since I've talk to you all last. I love being off from work and have gotten so many things done. My husband and I put a wood floor down in a little hallway in the older part of our home. I will be posting pics of that soon.

For my Pink Saturday post today I have these pretty little fleese throws that I picked up in, of all places CVS. I thought the colors were so pretty and I love to have these handy little cover ups around. I always keep my couch arms covered up in them in case Molly the Newf decides to get on the couch and use the arm as a chin rest. LOL

Now on to my Blue Monday post with Sally of Smiling Sally. This week while being off I finished this tote that I started months ago. It's a cross stitch that I did years ago and had framed but decided to make it into a tote bag.

If you look close you can see that she has little pearls for a necklace and little pearls in her hair bows.

I love her quilted chair that she is setting on!

Christmas is definatly in the air here. I have been busy pulling out all my decorations. Friday I spent the day taking down all my fall, cleaning house and started putting up Christmas. Look how cute these socks are that I found in The Dollar Tree. I love the old fashioned wool knee socks (that I can't find anymore) so I pick up these cute little holiday socks to wear with jeans.

They have lots of glitter threads in them that is not showing up here.

We celebrated my first Grandsons 19th birthday on Thanksgiving Day. My how the time does fly. I was so busy making pies so I purchased his Birthday cake. It was delish with Bryers Ice Cream! Happy Birthday Joey, we love you and are so proud of you!

My daughter Jen made me these cute little faux cakes for Thanksgiving. She makes so many pretty things, you can visit her here. Thank you Jen, I love them!

Another one of my favorite things that I have been doing during this week off from school is reading all my new Christmas issues of magazines.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I have alot planned for my last two days off before I go back to work. I do enjoy being home and nesting, making a nice comfy home for my family but I do look forward to getting back to work. I'm sure the children will be counting the days until Christmas. It will be fun to share their excitement!

PINK SATURDAY & MY BIRTHDAY

I took Beverly's challenge this week and went to visit a blog that I had not been to before and found the most wonderful blog. Vera at "Seams to Sew and Quilt" has a delightful mix of yummy cakes, cupcakes and quilts. I really enjoyed strolling through her blog and will be sure to stop back quite often.

Monday was my birthday and it was like Christmas at my cottage, so I'm going to share with you all of the pinkness that came my way this week.

First look at this yummy Dairy Queen cake my daughter Jen and my grandson's surprised me with.
It was delish!

Jen also made me some faux cakes for my birthday. Look how sweet this Maypole cake is. It's right at home in my teatime/cupcake guest bedroom.

Jen also made me this pretty ballerina cake.

Look how sweet, she even has a bracelet.

I love the back of her dress. Thank you so much Jen for your sweet thoughtful gifts!

My son is away for two weeks of training with the Army for his deployment in March but he sent me this beautiful card.

Another adorable gift from my daughter Jen. A sweet little halloween pincushion. Jen even made some ribbon rose pins for it. Love it Jen.

Jen wrapped my gift in this pretty teatime fabric, I love it and I think I'm going to make a small tabletop quilt for my kitchen island.

My sweet husband surprised me with this beautiful heart necklace.

And a pretty pink heart ring.

My friend Bertie from Aunt May Cottage sent me this beautiful box of goodies!

Look at this beautiful glove that she made. She makes the most adorable things.

The next three are close ups of the embroidery that Bertie sent me, pink, Southern Belles and embroidery. Three of my favorite things! Thank you so much Betie I will treasure them! I have not decided what I'm going to make them into but they will be something special.

Next I have some pretty pink gifts from my friend Katie at Rose Breeze Boutiques. Thank you so much Katie, The emroidered pillow is just beautiful as is the journal and card.

My friend Lorena over at Rose Chic Friends made me this adorable inital with hand made roses, a pretty card and some pink ribbons. Thank you so much Lorena.

I am so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. Thank you all so much!

BLUE MONDAY IN MY FOYER

First I'd like to say that as we turn our thoughts toward Memorial Day, we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and pray for the men and women who currently stand in the gap for our protection. May God Bless you on this Memorial Day Weekend!
I've given my foyer a new look this week, she's all done up in blue, perfect for Blue Monday.

A pretty little cross stitched sachet, done years ago.

This little Spring Cleaning cross stitch I did a few years ago and just this past week pulled it out of my sewing basket and got it made into a pillow, finally!

I love the little button sign (A CLEAN HOME IS A HAPPY HOME) All the materials came in a kit from The Silver Needle.

The yummy faux blue buttercream cupcakes were made by my daughter Jen and she has some available here in her Lolli Shop.

Jen made this little ballerina cake too and she has one available in her Lolli Shop also.

I love this little print, I framed it from a calender.

Another pretty print from a Hershey Calendar from back in the 70's.

Some cute little blue pincushions. The round one in the front is from my friend Ellen from Sweet Memory Making Mom. She makes the cutest pincushions. The little silk embroidered bunny is one of my creations.
