Pink Saturday, Off To The Beach & Award

Vacation Time! Pink Saturday & Another Award

I was thrilled to be awarded this Blogging Friends Forever Award for a second time. This time was from my PRH Sister Steph. Thank you so much Steph, I'm not going to name five people again since I already did that in a previous post. Please feel free to click on the pictures to get a better look.

Well we are all packed and ready to head out to the Outer Banks of NC. Wow after we got the boat hooked up were about as long as a tractor trailer! LOL

On to my Pink Saturday Post hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound.
Some of the things I've packed for my vacation are pink, of couse! So I thought I would post pics of that for you to enjoy.
First is a pic of a pretty pink quilt that I'm taking with me. I was inspired by my favorite book "Victorian Chic, by Anita Louise Crane. She suggests bringing pretty linens from home to make your rental cottage seem more like home.

I've also packed some pretty sachets, and other linens.
These sweet little sachets were made by my PRH Sister Katie. She did them in the 30's repo prints that I just love. Just had to tuck them in my suitcase!
Some pretty embroidered pillow cases and table toppers.

I thought you would love these pretty pink flipflops!
A pretty pink beach umbrella, it was sold for breast cancer awarness.
Some little Yardley Soap Sachets I made for some friends that I will be vacationing with.

Oh I just had to show you this, I stopped at a local flea market today and got this pretty vase for $3.00. It's a nice tall vase, quit a buy!

Thank you for stopping by, I loved sharing my pinkness with you! I will be taking my laptop on vacation so I should be able to post for next week if all goes well.
Blessings, Shirl

THANKS TO THE LORD & PINK SATURDAY

PRAISE THE LORD FOR HE IS GOOD!
First I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers. A few weeks back I had posted that my Dr. had found some traces of blood and wanted me to have a colonoscopy. I was so scared but my friends and family got me through with their prayers and words of support. I had my colonoscopy on Friday and it went well. My Dr. did not find a thing, not even a polyp. Prayers have been answered! Thanks be to God!

Now on to pinkness hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound.

The first thing I have to show you is my newest creation. I was inspired by the September issue of Romantic Homes. They had a "How To" on Faux Confections, so this is my spin off on that.
I made some Faux Strawberry Souffle. I made the strawberries from some satin left from alterations of my daughters bridesmaids gowns. They were beautiful pink satin Jessica McClintock gowns. I will be selling these and some satin strawberries on my FFM sales next month. Along with my silk ribbon embroidery.
The pretty plates they are setting are were from my PRH Sister Steph, from one of her fabulous FFM sales. Stop and see her when you have time, I'm sure you will find something irresistible there.

Now the rest of my pinkness today was made by my dear sweet PRH Sister Miss Rhea, they were either a gift from a swap or something that I purchased from her ebay, etsy or her FFM sales.

First is a journal that Miss Rhea made using her vintage clipart and her lovely hand painted roses. Hers are like no other!
A few closeups.

Another one of my favorites is this adorable Bless Our Nest. This was just calling my name, my hubby and I love to set and have our coffee watching the birds at the feeders and busy at play.

One of Miss Rhea's sugared eggs!

This beautiful heart shaped box was part of my Valentine swap from Miss Rhea, it was filled with yummy chocolate!
Some of her faux sweet treats!

A pretty little banner that she made using velvet. Velvet is a fabric that I just love!
Some tags made my Miss Rhea again using velvet.

These tags were another part of my Valentine swap from Miss Rhea!
Stop by and see Miss Rhea when you have time. You will see that her "sweet things" are just "unforgettable!
I hope you enjoyed my little bit of Pink this week.
My hubby and I are leaving for our beach vacation on Friday for two weeks. The cottage we rented has wireless internet so I should be able to post on Pink Saturday and maybe a few times in between with some beautiful ocean pictures.
Until next time,
Blessings, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY, AWARD & OTHER MUSSINGS

Hello and welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound. If you would like to join us just go to her blog and link up, we are growing by leaps and bounds! We do have so much fun!

I'm starting my pinkness with a pretty vintage post card. Please feel free to click on the pic to get a larger and better view.

I'm just thrilled to show you this beautiful Southern Belle Pin Cushion Doll. I purchased her from my Pretty Romantic Homes Sister Vickie of Visuals by Vickie. You can go here to see her web-site and all her beautiful treasures!
Some close ups.

Miss Vickie was so sweet she sent me these two little vintage poodle pins. My Aunt had poodles and when I see one I think of her.
Today I went to a little flea-market in town and found some really cute vintage treasures. The journal in the backgournd was not at the flea market, that was made by my friend Rhea and I will showcase that next week on my Pink Saturday post.
I got these salt/hat pin holders for $1.00 each. The aqua sugar bowl was only $3.00. It's not pink but I thought I would show you all my goodies from today's shopping trip.

Some closeups.

Look at how pretty this aqua glass is, I think I'm going to paint the lid pale pink and put some mini pink carnations in it.

This pretty bowl is really shabby but I loved it anyway. My friend Rhea had a good idea, she suggested making it into a pincushion.
Well that's it for all my pinkness, now on to an award.

My friends over at Jan & Tom's presented me with this thoughtful award. Thank you so much Jan & Tom. I really appreciate this! Jan & Tom host a fun Tea Party once a month. I have enjoyed doing that with them.

Now on to more mussings, I had been looking for a new floor lamp for my upstairs sitting room for some time. At times I sit up there and look through my cross stitch, craft & decorating books. I could not find what I wanted but found the one below that was just perfect for my living room. So I bought that one and painted the old one that was in my living room and put that upstairs.

A few close ups.

Below is the old lamp, I painted it white and put crystals on it then purchased a new lampshade. It's perfect for the room upstairs.
When it comes to cross stitch, I have two hobbies! Cross stitching and collecting books! I can set up here for hours just looking through books.

The base of this lamp is pretty too and it lights up.

Last saturday we spent the day on the lake in the boat. We live only five minutes from the beautiful Stonewall Jackson Lake and Resort.

We stopped a bit and watched this busy little beaver.
The next two pics are some things I picked up in a thrift store, I plan on redesigning them into cottage treasures and selling them on a Flea Market Friday.

Last pic is an adorable set of vintage filet crochet of cats and cherries. Just fell in love with it! They will go upstairs in my sitting room. Lots of red & cherries up there.
Well that's it for this post, I enjoyed having you! Please leave a comment, I love hearing from you!
Blessings, Shirl
