BLUE MONDAY & THE SEASHORE HITS MY FOYER

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. Today I have another peek into my foyer, this week I have all my pretty little seashore theme collectables and they just happen to be blue.

When I was 8 years old my Father retired from the Air Force, since he and my Mother were from the Phila., Pa area they decided to retire in NJ near the Jersey Shore. Oh how I miss the seashore since moving to WV 18 years ago.
How do you refer to going to the ocean? When I lived in NJ the saying went "Going to the Shore today", since moving to WV the saying goes "Going to the Beach today". I wonder what they call it on the West Coast and Southern Coast? Curious minds!!! LOL

I love this pretty little tray and use it everyday in the summer as hubby and I eat dinner on the porch every evening and sometimes lunch on the weekends.

Most of my seashore items I have picked up on summer vacations to the Outer Banks of NC. Since moving to WV that is our closet beach that we like to go to. Love this prettty little white glittered and beaded starfish.

A few seashore prints, this pretty print is the lighthouse on Orocoke Island in NC. A beautiful little cozy island off Cape Hatteras Island.

Some good Coastal Living magazines to set on the proch with and dream of living on the coast.

Of course Holly Hobbie had to join us today! These sweet little figurines always remind me of my sister and I !

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my little touch of blue in my foyer today. My husband and I are getting ready to leave for a little vacation home to the "Jersey Shore" to visit family and friends. Can't wait to smell that salt air and put my feed in the sand! LOL I'll be posting from the road, and especially if I find some pretty blue to share with you!
Have a great week!

BLUE MONDAY

Hello and Happy Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. If you go to her blog you can get a list of all the other participants.
Today I have a pretty "hint of blue butter cream frosted coconut cake", a blue vase and a vintage embroidered table runner.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope to be able to visit some blogs this week. I've been having wireless problems with my computer. It seems it works when it feels like it. LOL I usually bring my computer on the porch or in the kitchen and look at blogs in between housekeeping and gardening so I really miss it when the wireless does not work.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Happy Father's Day to all! I hope you all have a wonderful, happy and blessed day!

I'm remembering my father on this day. He was the best Father in the world. Such and kind, gentle and loving man. He gave my sister and I the most wonderful childhood. He was truly a great man. His family always came first in his life. Miss you Daddy and Love you so much!
The picture above was taken in Newfoundland in 1954, my sister Elizabeth, my Dad and myself. Look at that old picket fence, we were renting the Premier's house, at the time there was no base housing available.

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you visit her blog you can get a list of all the other participants. Thank you so much Beverly for hosting this fun event.

Today I thought I'd show you a pretty picture of the Liberty Bell that I purchased at an antique mall. I was so intrigued by this, it has sort of a hazy mist to it, almost like the picture was painted in a room full of smoke or maybe it's supposed to be the sun glaring in through the windows. It appears to be very old, I painted the frame white to give it a shabby cottage look.

I love her pink cape and pretty layers in her dress. I'm not even sure where I'm going to hang this picture, it just had to come home with me.
I have been having wireless computer problems all week and spent alot of time on the phone with tech help with still no wireless internet. I was not able to look at many blogs last week but hope to get to visit you all this week. I miss not being able to carry my laptop out to the porch and kitchen looking at blogs in between doing housekeeping and gardening. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this soon. We do get spoiled with all the technology don't we?
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week and wonderful Father's Day!
Bless you, Shirl

BLUE MONDAY & A SURPRISE FROM A BLOGGING FRIEND

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. Thank you Sally for hosting this fun event!
Today I have some pretty blue and yellow dish towels that I recently picked up at Walmart. I'm a dish towel person, if I have to do dishes then I've got to have pretty towels!

I'd also like to show you all the goodies I got in a package from a blogging friend. Miss Peach from Miss Peach's Meowz.
What a surprise I had in my mailbox last week from my sweet blogging friend!

An adorable Americana tag made by Karla, looks right at home in my Americana bath.

For Angel and all the other kitties some Whisker Lickin's and a fishing pole.

Angel trying to catch the fish with Vira watching are wanting to join in the fun.

A pretty vintage apron, Holly Hobbie coffee jar and some Peach Tea.
Delish Colombian Coffee and a Holly Hobbie coffee mug.

Packed in a pretty Holly Hobbie gift bag.
A cute little hand made kitty tag and a Women's Blessing pen and bookmark.

A Vintage Fashions magazine, seeds, crochet dish cloth and some inspirational reading.

The first issue of Holly Hobbie's Home Times. I was thrilled to get this magazine, it was just being discused in the Holly Hobbie's Collectible Club that I belong too. Funny story about this magazine, I had bought it back in the 70's when it came out and when my son was 2nd grade and had to do current events, he decided to do his current events on his Mommy's favorite magazine. He cut it all up, I was soooo upset but did not let him know because he was so proud of the good job he did on his homework. I will treasure this issue! LOL
Last but not least three Country Gardens magazines. How sweet of Miss Peach to think of me and collect all my favorite things. Thank you so much Miss Peach and Karla, so much thought and love went into this gift and I will think of you each and every time I look at one of these gifts! Bless you!
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great week.

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.
I'm not able to post what I had planned for today because I've been having ISP problems all week. It has been cloudy all week so I can't upload pics, I'm using a pic that I had stored in Photo Bucket for this post today. Those are already uploaded.
This week I even went out and purchased the Sprint little plug in wireless card and it works if I stand out in my yard. So that is not the answer either. I think it might get a little cold out there in the winter. LOL
Rural living does have it drawbacks.
So today I have a pic to show you that will give you a little peek into the room I have recently painted and decorated. I have a few more things to finish up in this room then I'll post the whole thing. This room will be a combination of guest bedroom and crafting room. The theme for this room is teatime/cupcake. Sooooooooooo cute!!!!!! I can't wait to share my ideas with you all!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Bless you, Shirl

BLUE MONDAY

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally.
Yesterday we took my Grandson's out on the boat for the day. This beautiful lake is only five minutes from our home. As you can see it was a beautiful day out there on the water. The sky was just as blue as can be.

Some pretty Blue Love in a Mist. This was just my second season for this plant and I'm so happy it made it. I love blue flowers. It is spreading all along this fence. I had put that tomato cage there to remind my grandsons not to weed wack it down. LOL The original plant was given to me from a designer at the local florist.

A pretty blue Clematis growing up my proch railing.
These two plants I do not know what they are, they were both given to me last year and the lady had given me so many that I don't remember what she said they were. Does anyone out there know what they are?

A close up of the yellow. This is a large and beautiful plant. I'm hoping it will bloom all summer.

WHY WOULD A DEER CHASE MY SWEET LITTLE KITTY BENTLEY?
Do you know why a deer would chase a cat? On saturday my husband and grandson were working in the garden and heard a crashing up on the hill, they turned to look and here came my sweet little Bentley being chased by a deer. That deer was trying to stomp him with his front feet. Oh my poor cat could have been killed, I wonder why the deer would have felt threatened by my cat? My husband thought maybe it had a fawn up there in the woods. What do you all think?
Bentley getting a drink from the pitcher pump on the well.

Below is the hill that Bentley and the deer came running off of. Poor Bentley ran right though the garden then onto the front porch. His little heart pounding a mile a minute. The deer stopped at the garden where there is electric wire around it. Thank goodness that the deer was not able to stomp my poor little boy. I'd of been heartbroken without him. He is my sweet little kitty that loves to cuddle.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'll be back later this week with a post of a gift from a sweet blogging friend.
Bless you, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
Above I have a pic of my Blue Jacob's Ladder plant. My cats got to running and playing today and broke it down. Oh I was so mad at them. LOL. I thought I'd bring it in to enjoy rather than just let it die. Also in the vase a pink waterlogged rose from my garden. It's been raining for a week now. They are calling for a nice weekend, I've got my fingers crossed!

Next I have a pretty millinery hat that I purchased at an antique mall last weekend. It was only $8.00, I was going to take it apart to use flowers for crafting but I've not been able to do that. LOL For my WV blogging friends this antique mall is "Buckhannon Emporium" on Main Street in Buckhannon. It's a fun mall and I always come out with something when I go, prices are usually great!

I found this pretty teacup in the same antique mall, it's not vintage but pretty just the same. It was only $6.00. I have my Mother's teacup shelf that I'm still trying to fill up so I'm always happy to find one at a good price.
The back has a white wild rose on it.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I'll be back Monday with a Blue Monday post. Have a great weekend!
Bless you, Shirl
