PINK SATURDAY NOV. 27, 2010

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

Well it's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is over and we are now in the Christmas season, radio stations are playing Christmas music now until the day after Christmas. I love when I get in the car and hear all those cheerful songs reminding me of Christmas' past.

I went to one store yesterday for Black Friday shopping, I rarely ever go out on that day but a new shop opened in town and I was really wanting to get a peek at it. A very cute shop called the Primitive Pumpkin, very country which I don't have alot of in my house but picked up a few really cute things for my family room. I'll have to get some pics for next week to show you.

Today I just have a few pics of some of my pink Christmas decor that I've put out. First thing I do is put window candles out. I love the cozy feel they bring to a room.
The first one above is in my bedroom and below is a pink spray on the window curtain tieback.

The window light below is in one of our guest bedrooms.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. Have a great week!
I wish you peace! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS NOV. 20, 2010

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

I would like to take this time to wish you all a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving. However you spend your day I pray that it's peaceful and with people you love!

Today I have this beautiful china for two that I picked up at a Flea Market for 25 cents! Can't beat that price and it's just perfect for my new guest bedroom that I am decorating in pink and yellow. Just enough pieces for my daughter Jen and I to have tea, chicken salad and croissants. Love it!

Next I have two items that my daughter Jen's Great Dane's played tough of war with and ripped to threads. I made them over for her and I wish I had taken a before pic but I didn't. Jen was very surprised to see that I was able to get the needlework part clean. That was the only fabric I reused was the vintage cross stitch. The rest was fabric from my stash.
It looks right at home in my guest bedroom but I'll have to part with it soon. LOL

This was another item that her dogs played with and destroyed. I was able to get it clean and made it back into the same little pillow it was before. Jen had cross stitched this to use on her wedding table by the guest book.

Now on to a few Thanksgiving pictures from our old farmhouse.

Below is a cute little book that I picked up at a Cracker Barrel. I love their gift shop, always so many cute things in there.

Great pictures and recipes inside.

I can't believe that Christmas is right around the corner, don't know where the time went. I picked up this cute little Gooseberry Patch book at a card store. I love their books and look forward to reading this over the Thanksgiving break. I have 9 days off and I'm so glad for the break.

I put out my first Christmas decoration today, a pretty little pillow that my daughter Jen made for me. It sets on my guest bedroom bed.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you and I wish you a Happy wonderful and blessed holiday!
Blessings, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY NOV. 13. 2010

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

Today for my pinkness I have this pretty plate that I purchased in 1985. It does not have alot of pink just touches here and there. I loved this from the first time I laid my eyes on it. My dream house here, but just a dream for sure. My husband wanted alot of land and the Victorian homes are most times in town. So I settled for this old farm house. I'm trying my best to gingerbread it up. LOL

Stargazer Lily's from last week are still looking beautiful!

Next I have a pic of Lady J, relaxing on the porch after having her puppy maker out. LOL Poor girl, I'm sure she was afraid she was on her way to another home. We promised her that this (her 5th) home would be her forever home. After three days at the vet she is so happy to be home with us.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings to you! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & MILITARY APPRECIATION WEEK NOV. 6, 2010

My Grandson Joey who is serving in the US Navy. We love you Joey and we are so proud of you. Thank you so much for serving our country!

My Son Bob who is serving a tour in Afghanistan. We love you Bob, miss you, be safe! We are so proud of you, thank you for serving our country!

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

This week is Military Appreciation Week~~~~~~quoted~~~~~~"A U.S. Member is somewhere in the world tonight missing their family while you are safe at home. In the minute it takes to read this military members all over the world are not only saving lives but, they are sacrificing their own life for your freedom." Thank a military member to show them your appreciation !!!!!
I would like to take this time to thank all of you who have expressed your thoughts and prayers for my Son and Grandson who are serving in the military!
I appreciate your comments and prayers soooo much! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you also to all of your family and friends that are serving in the military. We have a long line of military members in my husbands family and mine. I have so much respect for the people that have and are now serving our country.
I found this adorable little plate at a Flea Market for $4.00, could not resist it. Not only the cute cottage with a yellow ribbon like I have displayed myself since my son left for Afghanistan last Feburary but also for the cute little pink rose covered walkway.

My poor yellow ribbon is torn and tatterted, LOL, but not to much longer to go. Bob will be home in Feburary. We are so proud of him and also proud of our Grandson Joey who is serving in the US Navy going to dental school.
Since our road is private and not a public road we can get away with putting the bow on it.

Made a stop at the grocery store on the way home from work on Thursday and found these pretty Stargazer Lily's on the clearence table because they had a few bumps and bruses. Still lots of blooms to open and the scent I just can't resist bruses or not. LOL

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner.

Look at these cute little lamps I picked up at a flea market this week, The milk glass were $2 each and the crystal was $4. I love milk glass and plan on using some in my newly decorated sewing room. These will be just perfect. I plan on putting new crystals on the one lamp then make pretty lampshades for all three.

My reads for the weekend. I've always wanted an Yorkshire Terrier and plan on getting one when I retire. I picked up this book thinking it would be a good time to start doing a little reading on the breed.

A beautiful new book from my book club. This book is just fabulous!!!

Well that's it for another Pink Saturday, I only post once a week so I tend to get alot in on one post, hope you don't mind. It was so nice to visit with you!
Blessings, Shirl
