A Very Happy Pink Saturday Thanksgiving! 11/17/12

Hello to all my Pink Saturday Friends. I'm so sorry to be MIA for so long. Life has just been keeping me so busy lately. I've missed chatting with you all so much. I thought since I'm off for nine days for Thanksgiving break I'd try and stop to visit all my Pink Saturday friends.

It's been so different and hard around here without our sweet Molly the Newf, it's taken some adjusting in our life but we made it through. Shortly after Molly died our little  mini golden Goldie died then one of our cats Annie. It's been a hard year, I'm ready for a new one.

Ed and I had a wonderful vacation this summer, we went to Beaufort, SC to spend some time with our grandson in the Navy then we went on to St. Augustine, Florida. What a paradise that was. Can't wait to go back again. My parents were there after WWII and we had their pictures and went to all the places they went. Took pics standing in the same places they did. I where my Mom stook and Ed stood in for my father where he stood. I will post pics for you all later in the new year. My mother always spoke so fondly of St. Augustine and I can see why. It was magical. So much history and a tranquil bay and ocean. Loved it!

Our sweet Lady is our only dog we have now. She is a sweetheart. We were her fifth and forever home. She is so happy with us and of couse she is spoiled!

I wish you all a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!
Friend me on facebook if you'd like I'm on there several times a week. Shirley Wunschel Hubbs is my user name of facebook.
Hugs, Shirl

A PINK VALENTINES DAY SATURDAY, FEB. 11, 2012

Hello and welcome to a Valentine Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. I am also linking up with The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday. Thank you for the invite to join! I'm sorry to be have been away for so long, it's been one thing after another since our sweet Molly died. I fell and hurt my knee, x-ray showed nothing broken but I was in alot of pain. Also having a problem with hives, not sure what's causing that, I'm starting to think stress so far no meds are working to releave this. We lost Molly and also our little Golden Girl is fifteen years old and she's going down hill fast. It's been alot of work taking care of her and seeing her fail so fast is stressful.

Anyway I'm sorry to sound so down, I'm not usually like this. I've managed to get my house decorated for Valentine's Day. I hope you like all my pinkness that I have to share this week. First I have my pink tree in my foyer.

Love my old green chair. I'm thinking about painting some furniture in my upstairs setting room in this color. I have some odd pieces that are different in style and time period so I thought maybe I could tie them together in the same color paint. I'll be sure to post pics if I decide to do that.

Below is a cute little paper craft that friends and I got together and made.

Next I have a cute little ornament that I made for the tree this year. Ed and I just celebrated our 41st anniversary. The pics I used to make this were taken back when we met in spring of 1970.

Next are some faux cupcakes that I made with some friends on one of our crafting nights.

A few closeups.

Were under a winter storm watch and the snow already started flying. Three great magazines arrived in the mail today so I'm planning a cozy weekend at home by the fire reading and crafting!

I love this little card with the chicks, I'm going to try and find that stamp and make that one!

Well that's it for my pink this week, thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Hugs, Shirl

REST IN PEACE MOLLY, PINK SATURDAY JAN. 14, 2012

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.

I'm sorry I have not been in posting but our Molly has been so sick with a disease called Mega Esophagus. Saturday she died from the disease. Our poor girl fought so hard, she loved her life with us and just would not let go. About and hour before she died she kept looking up at the ceiling as if someone was calling her. I feel like the angels were telling her to cross over. I know she is in heaven now running and romping with our pets that passed before her. I know my Mother will take good care of her until I get there.

We are lost without her but we are so also releaved that she does not have to suffer from this disease anymore. It's an awful one that they do not know much about it yet. It was very hard to take care of her since she is such a large dog. It was so sad to see her waist away like she did.

"Rest in peace beautiful girl we love you and miss you!"

She used to sit under this tree and wait for us to come home. Then as we approched the front door we would hear her dog door slam as she headed in the house to the front door to greet us. Always a big drool of a kiss. LOL

Molly always loved to come to the beach with us. Here's a few pics of her at the Outer Banks.

Her first birthday party. March 25, 2003.

Molly was such a sweet dog, she used to share her bed with her brother Elvis.

My how we miss her. She would have been ten years old in March. She did live a long life for a Newfoundland but not long enough for us. It was so hard to let her go. She will be missed.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my post.

Hugs to you all, Shirl
