PINK SATURDAY & Christmas Mussings

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound. Stop by to see her and get a list of all the participants.

I hope that everyone of you had a wonderful Christmas. Our's was a nice day spent with family. Just a very nice and relaxing day!

The picture above is all the pretty pinkness that I received in a swap from my friend Lorena of Rose Chic Friends. She paints the most beautiful roses and also make roses out of clay. So pretty, thank you Lorena!

Please feel free to click on the pics to get a larger view!

The picture above is a gift from my friend Steph of Angelic Accents. Below is a closeup of all my pinkness from Steph. The little tree is made from felt and that is one of my favorite things. Felt just tugs at my heart! A little cross stitch teapot and the most beautiful teacup, saucer and cake plate. Thank you so much Steph I love it all and treasure our friendship!

Below is the gift that I made for Lorena in our swap, it's not pink but I thought Iwould show you some of the things that I made during the holidays. Lorena decorates some of her rooms in red and green so I embroidered this tea towel and sachet for her. Also I made her a little Christmas banner using an old vintage post card.

Close up of the tea towel.
A few more gifts that I made, below is a tussie for a friend.

Close up of the little bird peeking out of her nest.

A pretty little brooch that I made from yoyo's, then pinned it to a copy of a vintage postcard.

This Victorian stocking that I made (pictured below), I first made back in 1975 for my Mother. The girl that I made this for loved Victorian and I thought this would go so nice in her home.
Below is the one I made for my Mother back in 1975. I made it using taffeta and eyelet lace. I had forgotten all about it and found it in her little sewing basket. I was cleaning out her basket to give to my daugher Jen and came across it. I don't know why it was in there or what she had planned for it but she must have had some sort of plans for it. She had pinned the little crochet wreath to it so I left it there. I'm thinking about making some in soft shabby cottage pinks.

A little bit of Christmas next to my couch where I sit when I find the time to relax and read or stitch.

A few pics of my Christmas tree.

I put our tree in our foyer in front of the staircase so you can see all sides of the tree. Our staircase is being replaced now with oak and is not done yet.

The cats have been having fun with the tree. The newest little fellow "Mr. Gray the Stray" has really done a number on it.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to have you. I have some more pics to share with you in a future post so be sure to stop back when you have time.
Happy Holidays, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & CHRISTMAS PART 3

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Today I thought I would show you some more of my Christmas decorating in my bedroom since I have alot of pink in there.
First I have to show you this old piano that was given to us by my husbands family. We were the only ones in the family that liked antiques so we were given most of the family heirlooms. This was cherry but I gave it a shabby cottage redo!

Next I have to show you the fireplace mantel in my bedroom. It was cherry also, I like it much better in white.

The God Is Love over the matel was stitched by my dear friend Pat who passed away of cancer about 14 years ago.

The two Betsy Clark candles were my Mother's I love them and put them out every year. I bought them for her when I first got married.

Some glitter words that I made this week. Dream and Noel.

A little tussie that I made this week. I love aqua and pink together! When I was little I used to color all my sky's in these two colors. LOL

A window in my bedroom, I'm planning on getting new curtains after I wallpaper and wainscote my walls. Just not sure what I want.

The porch outside this window we have plans of making it into a four seasons sunroom.

A closeup of the tieback swag.

I got this pretty frame in Kohl's last year and put a vintage print in it.

Now on to one of my bathrooms. This room is aqua with touches of pink.

The little Goebel angels were my Mom's.

A little banner that I made this week.

That's it for pink, I'd thought I'd show you a little more of my decorating. The pic below is in my living room.

A tree topper in a candlestick. I got this idea from a Christopher Radko book.
Below was my Mother's Nativity by Goebel that she had started collecting just before she passed away. Perhaps one day I will add to it.

Christmas pillows on my couch.

I borrowed this idea from my friend Celeste to hang an ornament from a lampshade. I was hanging them from the lampswitch. I like her idea much better. Thank you Celeste for the great idea!

I could not figure out what the spots were on the sampler, then I realized it was the glare of christmas tree lights.

Last this week is a picture of a three tier wood stand with houses and bottlebrush trees. This is in one of my guest bedrooms.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I'm still not finished with my decorating so I will be putting more pics up in the next few days. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Blessings, Shirl
