BLUE MONDAY & HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Pink Saturday May 5, 2010. I'm having ISP problems and might not be able to get my post up today. My Sprint Wireless device broke and they are sending me a new one. If it gets here on time then I'll get my giveaway posted if not I won't be announcing the giveaway winner until next Saturday. So sorry! Have a great weekend and I'll be visiting Pink Saturday Bloggers as soon as I'm up and running again.

Blessings to ya, Shirl

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. Thank you Sally for hosting this fun event. Now that school is almost out (just four more days) I will be able to post again on Monday's. I've missed all of you and I'm looking forward to visiting with you again.

Today I am combining a blue post and a Memorial Day Post.

Memorial Day is a day to honor the memories of the armed forces members who never made it to veteran status because they were killed fighting for their country in wars, police actions, peace-keeping missions or terrist attacks. I thank them all and send blessings to their families left behind.

I do have to take this special day to Honor my son Bob and all the other troops for their service to our country and to let them know how appreciated they are.

Thanking a Veteran for their service is always appreciated and can never be said enough.
Thank you Bob we love you, miss you and are so proud of you!

The little picture of the bride is my daughter Jen and her brother Bob. She was pinning on his boutonniere. So many years ago.

I am having a giveaway on my previous post (200th), if you go here or scroll down to previous post you can enter the drawing for a pretty little felt bunny embroidered with silk.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
Blessings to ya, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY, 200th POST & GIVEAWAY

Hello and welcome to a very special Pink Saturday hosted by our sweet Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Today is the 2nd Birthday of Pink Saturday's. This event ,thanks to Beverly, has been a huge success, it has been so much fun to meet all you other Pink Bloggers out there. I'm so blessed to have met you all and enjoy our little chats every week. Thank you Beverly and Congrats on your success!
Now on to some pinkness from my vacation this past week.

This pretty crazy quilt heart I picked up in an antique mall. I usually buy something from this gals booth every time I visit the mall. She is so creative and her designs just tug at your heart. The heart sets in an old bed spring which I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it in that or not. A little too primitive for my decorating.
I love how she included an old vintage photo and an old locket with pics still inside. I'm thinking about changing the pics out and putting some old ones of my Mom's.

In celebration of the Pink Saturdays 2nd Birthday and for my reaching my 200th post I've having a giveaway.
Just post a comment on this or my next post (monday) and I will enter your name in my drawing. To enter join as a follower (or already one, let me know)I will put your name in and if you link up with my giveaway with this pic I will add you in a 2nd time.
For my giveaway I'm giving the winner one of my little felt bunnies with silk ribbon embroidered trim.
Good Luck! I will draw the winner Friday evening next week and post the winner next Saturday.
Below is an adorable little pillow that I purchased in my favorite quilt shop in NJ called "City Quilts". It's saying really tugged at my heart because I so often say this myself. I always try to plant seeds of kindness along my path.

Look how sweet these 30's repo fabrics are! I'm making a block of the month quilt in my Quilt Guild and I'm using 30's repos. Love them!
A pretty little vintage sugar bowl from the Antique Mall in Burlington, NJ.
Some pretty vintage doilies from the same mall. Can't resist an embroidered basket!
In honor of my son Bob being deployed I'm doing my front porch in a patriotic theme this summer. I was thrilled to find this quilted framed flag with pink rosebuds. Although my porch in being decorated in red, white and blue this year it still has touches of pink here and there so this was perfect.
Next week I have a very special post, finally I have taken pics of my new Teatime/Cupcake Crafting Guest Bedroom.
What is behind this door? Stop back next week and see!!!!!!!!
A perfect saying for guests who will stay in this room.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. A big Happy Birthday To Beverly and Pink Saturday! I will be back Monday with a Blue Monday/Memorial Day post.
Blessings to ya! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to another Pink Saturday post hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you so much Beverly for hosting this fun event.

For my pink this week I have a cute little vignette on my kitchen windowsill of a flower from my garden in bloom called Opulas Viburnum. When it first blooms the flowers are a pale lime green then they turn white. I love to put the green blooms with pale roses. A beautiful combination when they are both in bloom at the same time.

Of couse a few little touches of pink for you to enjoy.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you.
My husband and I are going back home to NewJersey this week for a friends daughters wedding. While we are there we will stay the week and visit family and friends. We have a busy week scheduled so I doubt we will get to visit the "Jersey Shore" this time. It's hard when it's only 45 mins. away and will not get to put my toes in the sand. LOL
Have a wonderful week, I'll have my computer with me so I will still be able to visit blogs.
Blessings to ya! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

I'd like to take this time to wish you all a Happy and Blessed Mother's Day. Whatever you do I wish you much happiness.

Today for Pink Saturday I have my pretty wisteria blooms to show you. I know they are not pink but just about any pic I take in my house has pink in it. LOL

The blooms are so pretty and the scent is heavenly!

Here's some growing up a tree out behind our house. We just threw some vines out and they grew up a dead tree.

You can see it winding up the tree here.

Here' s some lilac's from my garden.

My wisteria in bloom a few years ago. Molly the Newf under it.

Some lilacs from my garden.

I love to decorate in the color lavender this time of the year.

A pretty lavender cross stitch tote I made a few years ago.

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event!
I love yellow in the spring especially when the daffodils are in bloom so I did my little thrift store cake stand up in yellow this month. There are touches of pink here so I thought I could sneak it in a Pink Saturday post. I only post once a week so I often have things here that are not pink. School will be out on June 5th so maybe then I will be able to post more often.

This cute little girl under the cloche is a birthday card from a friend.
The little gardening bear and mouse were gifts from my son.

Some daffodils and other flowers from my garden.

I just bought this Pink Double Knock Out rose last night. I have 2 of these rose bushes now and I just love them. They bloom all summer way into fall. Always covered in blooms.

Apple trees are in bloom in WV right now and the blossems are beautiful.

The scent is heavenly so I always bring some in my kitchen.

I have some great new magazines for reading on the porch this weekend.
I love this one called Where Women Create and my favorite artist Susan Rios is featured in this issue.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I hope to be able to visit more blogs this week, My ISP gave me fits this past week. I have a wireless card but in a rural area they are not much faster than dial up. Real bummer for sure. Thank you all who have stopped by to visit and left a comment. I love hearing from you all!
Blessings to ya! Shirl
