PINK SATURDAY & A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, DEC. 24, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. I wish all my blogger friends a wonderful and Blessed Christmas and holiday. This will be a wonderful holiday for us since my son was in Afghanstan last year at this time. What peace of mind we have with him being at home now. Our Sailor Grandson drove home from Beaufort, SC for a four day leave. We are so blessed to have them both home with us this year.
Today I have a pretty embroidered heartstrings that I made for a friend this Christmas.

A few closeups.

My sister fell and broke her hip so I sent her some of her favorite homemade cookies. I hope they arrive without getting too broken up.

I packed them in a tin in cupcake wrappers.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and holiday! Hugs, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY DEC. 17,2011

Hello and welcome to my Pink Saturday post hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Today I have a pretty little pink Christmas pillow that my daughter Jen cross stitched for me several years ago. It's one of my favorite decorations.

A close up.

The next three pictures are from a Stampin Up party that I went to. The neat thing about them is that you only use one sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper, then use your scarp supplies to make all nine cards. Sorry I missed a picture so I only have six cards showing here. I'll repost them next week.

Below is my sweet Angel, she is about 12 years old now and she is slowing down a bit.

My favorite Christmas tree ornament. I made this over 25 years ago.

An old shelf in my kitchen with my jadeite.

My Mother's Goebel Nativity set. She started buying these but passed away before she purchased the complete set.

A little corner of my living room.

Thank you so much for stopping by it was so nice to visit with you. I still have a little Christmas decorating to do then I'll start baking. Have a wonderful week.

A VERY CHRISTMAS PINK SATURDAY, DEC 10, 2011

Hello and welcome to A Christmas Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. I've been a busy bee the past few weeks. I just don't know where the time goes and I only work part time, can't imagine how I would get things done if I worked full time. Anyway I'm still taking care of my two aging pups and they sure do take up my time. We're trying to get the house repairs and painting done before we retire. I painted my office/library over Thanksgiving break now I just have to make a few things then I'll post pics of it. I'm so happy to have all my books in one room. I've done a little Christmas decorating above is a pic from my kitchen. Don't mind my header being over to one side, don't know how to fix it either. If you can help I'd appreciate it. I welcome ideas. I'd like to have a big pic as my header but don't know how to do that.

First I have some cards that I made at a Stampin Up Party.

I love the Victorian Cabin on this one and the glitter on the stocking is so cute.

Below is a cute little gift card holder that I got on my travels this summer. I love wool applique.

Below is my newest Gooseberry Patch Cookbook. Love these books!

My sweet Angel on Thanksgiving, we did not cook her for dinner, honest!!!! I set the turkey roasting pan on the table while I was making the stuffing and she found a cozy place to sleep. I washed it really good!!! LOL

I'm lovin my two December calenders and thought I'd share with you all.

Gooseberry Patch is adorable this month! I buy this calender every year, then scrapbook with the old ones.

I plan on spending the weekend decorating so I will have more pics to post next week. Thank you so much for stopping by it was so nice to visit with you.

PINK SATURDAY NOV. 26, 2011

Hello and welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by our sweet Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was fabulous. My children and grandsons came for dinner. Our grandson (our sailor) is home on a four day leave. It's so nice to have him and our son Bob home this year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Last year my son was in Afghanistan so this year is really great for us.

This pretty little candle holder below I picked up at our local thrift store for a quarter. It's so pretty I was thrilled with this find!

It seems hard to believe it's just a month away from Christmas. I've already started getting my Christmas boxes out. Everyday I'll put a few more things out. I'm not going to put our big tree up again this year our newest dog is still a little puppy crazy and I know if the cats knock an ornament off she will think it's hers. If the cats knock down a book or magazine Lady thinks it's fair game and rips them up. A real bummer because I love my books! LOL
Thank you so much for stopping by, it was really nice to visit with you. Have a wonderful week.

PINK SATURDAY, NOV. 19, 2011

Hello friends, I'm linking up with Smilin Sally because I have some blue on this post that I'd like to share with you. I also wanted to wish you all and wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. I usually work on Monday's and don't get a chance to link up with Sally. Our schools in WV close for the week so I thought it was a great chance to visit all my Blue Monday friends.

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

First I have a few close ups of a  little table mat that I embroidered this past year. It's done in pearl cotton in Brazilian emboridery then made into a little quilt. My friend Mary from "Here's Home" had seen it in one of my pics and wanted to see a close up of it. I will try to get some better pics this week for you Mary. I found these in my files but they really do not do it justice. It's all done by hand. Thank you Mary for admiring it!

Another little Calico Kitten that I picked up in an Antique Shop in Ohio Amish Country for $2.00.

Another Calico Kitten, I thought it was so cute with the gift of kitty food for her friend. LOL A touch of blue here!

Next it's Grandma's bragging time.
My two youngest grandson's and their dates for their homecoming dance in September.
Marcus is on the left, he is a senior and Mike on the right is a sophmore.
I just had to share the girls pretty blue dresses with my Blue Monday friends!

We are so proud of our handsome grandsons and enjoy watching them grow up into young men.

Next is our grandson (our sailor) with his younger brother on his back. They are always clowning around like this. We love them so much! "He ain't heavy, he's my brother"

I snapped these pictures of our grandson Joey (our sailor) in his Mustang convertable that he bought when his was stationed in California, had it shippped home to his new base in Beaufort, SC. We love seeing him coming in and out of the farm when he's home on leave. He's enjoying his time with his brother's and friends. He will be home again for Thanksgiving, we love that he's stationed on the east coast and can get home when he has a long weekend. Ed and I are going to go to Beaufort this summer and spend some time with him. He and Ed both love to fish and I love to relax, read and embroider so we will have a great time. Then seafood restaurents and walking on the beach in the evening.

A touch of pink on the plate below, my husbands Uncle gave me this when we were in NJ. I thought it was so pretty.

A little creamer that I picked up in a thrift store for a quarter.

Thank you so much for stopping by it was so nice to visit with you. I'm looking forward to my visits with you! Have a wonderful week and have a wonderful and Blessed Thanksgiving!

Pink Saturday Nov. 5, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. It's nice to be back posting again, and it was to visit those that I was able to. Not enough hours in a day for fun things.

Well I'm having a time with this new format with blogger. My pics are all out of order and I can't seem to move them how I want them so we'll just have go as they are.

The fist pic (above) is of a  vintage silhouette that I bought on vacation. I started collecting them many years ago and have a nice collection in my living room now. I thought this one was so sweet.

The picture above is a cute little quick phone magnet guide for the fridge. I thought the design was so cute! Below are some cute little Amish note cards that I picked up while vacationing in Ohio Amish Country this fall.

I love cute little note pads and the next two are just adorable.

Here's the out of order pic of the silhouette.

Below is the second silhouette that I bought at the same time as the previous one.

I thought this little faux cupcake was adorable, they only had one left so I bought it and I am going to try a make some more myself. Just collecting the supplies now.

A sweet little Cherished Teddy that I got at an antique mall while on vacation. Could not resist her.

Well that's it for all my pinkness this week. Thank you so much for stopping by, it was nice to visit with you. Have a wonderful week.
