Pink Saturday

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.
I'm so happy to tell you all that last Saturday I won a giveaway from Nancy at La Chambre Rose. The plant coming from Paula at Pondalicious.
The name of this pretty plant is "Canna Pink Sunburst". Above is what it will look like in bloom. Thank you so much Nancy and Paula for this wonderful giveaway. It arrived in beautiful condition. I've ordered alot of plants over the years and this is the best condition that a plant has ever arrived to me in.

Here is my beautiful Canna happy in my yard cozied with my "Elephant Ear" plants.

As you can see in the pic below, my hollyhocks are still happy and reaching for the sky. They are now taller than my rose trellis.

This week I picked up two pretty storage boxes. This one has cupcakes and glitter and will store my fabric and trims for altered art projects.
If you click on the pic you will get a close up and be able to see the pretty glitter on the boxes.

The next pretty one is a wedding box but so pretty I had to have it. The glitter does not show up in pic but it has glitter along the white diamond grid and is sooooo sweet!

This box will hold my trims for totes, pillows and my fabric cake boxes.
Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great weekend, I'll be back on Monday for a Blue Monday post with Sally of Smiling Sally.

BLUE MONDAY

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. Today I have a pretty cross stitched sampler done in pinks and blues. This pretty sampler sits in a corner of my bedroom and makes me smile every time I walk in the room and see it.

It sets on top of a wardrobe in my bedroom that's used as a closet, being a pre-civil war home there were no closets built in at the time.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I will be back on Saturday with a Pink Saturday post, try to stop back! Have a great week.
Blessings to you! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & TUSSIE MUSSIES

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday! This fun event is hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants.
This week I went to visit friends and before going I made them each an herbal tussie mussie. I love using herbs to make them first for the scent and second is that they can use the herbs to cook with later in the week.
Usually I will put a rose in the center of these but since my stargazer lily's were in bloom I used them and that made the scent so much more intense.

The second one. The pretty vintage cake carrier was painted by my daughter Jen of Jen's Petal Palace.
Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I will be back on Monday with a Blue Monday post so stop back if you can!
Have a great weekend!
Bless you, Shirl

BLUE MONDAY

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. Thank you Sally for hosting this fun event.

The above pic is at our friends house in NJ were we spent the 4th of July. What a nice day we had with lifelong friends that day!

Next I have a few more vacation pics, also if you scroll down to my previous post you can see some more vacation pics and some Antique Mall finds.
Barnegat Lighthouse.

A little waterfront town in NJ named Weirtown. We used to dock out boat here when we lived in NJ.

That little boardwalk is part of a restaurant, you can set out there and eat overlooking the waterfront. Such a sweet little community!

The next few pics are in my husbands home town, Burlington. I love this old brick house now a conference center.
This town has the cutest quilt shop and a gift shop called Tin & Berries. I'll show you what I got in them next week.

A house that I love!
When I travel I do needlework, the tractor trailors scare me to death! LOL Below are my traveling project from this trip.

The redwork embroidery I thought would be pretty made into a pillow using vintage white dotted swiss fabric. I have my eye on a little girls vintage dress on ebay that I will cut up to use for fabric. I'll be sure to show you the finished result.

Some cross stitch done on premade pillow forms.

The next two pieces were very old Creative Circle kits, they came with plastic frames which I am not going to use. I might make them into little teacup coasters. I'm going to add some pretty little crystal beads to glam them up a bit.

Yummy pasteries from the bakery right down the road from my husbands Uncle where we stay when we go to NJ. My camera had a smuge on the lense, that's why the fuzzy look.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I'll be back on saturday with a post for Pink Saturday, try to stop back. If you have time scroll down to my past few posts and see othere vacation pics. Have a great week!
Bless you, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & TEA TIME CURTAINS FOR MY DAUGHTER JEN

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound. If you stop by to see her you can get a list of all the other participants.
The pretty pink teatime fabric above is what I used to make curtains for my daughter's kitchen. Her sewing machine is down so I whippped these up for her. If you stop by to see Jen at Jennifer's Petal Palace you can see the finished product!

I was so happy to see my pink hollyhocks in bloom when we got back from vacation.

The powderpuff type are my favorite!
Also in bloom were my Stargazer's and Glads. I had to bring some inside the cottage. Then scent is wonderful!

While on vacation near the NJ shore we made our stop at my favorite Antique Emproium.

I thought this was so darn cute! This lady always has the cutest things and she displays them so adorable! Vintage clipart, vintage hankie, key, dried sweet Annie. I just love it!
The back is even cute!

Below is the rest of my little treasures from this mall. I just love these sweet little vintage baby pictures. I'm decorating a guest bedroom in yellow with touches of pink and with lots of baby vintage items in there so these will be perfect. A pretty vintage hat, pink tassle and pretty vintage pink pearl earings.

We also bought two vintage leaded glass windows. Hubby had not taken them out of the truck yet so I could not get a pic of them.
Some more vacation pictures of the Barnegat Bay.
I love to walk on the boat docks and watch them come and go.

Behind all these trees below is the little farmette that my husband and I owned before moving to WV. You can barely see the house through the trees. You can see the barn in the back.

Anyway behind all those trees is a big old white farmhouse. Pics are not that great, we were driving in the car when I snapped them.
That's it for today, thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit and share with you! I'll be back Monday with Smiling Sally for a Blue Monday post. Have a great weekend!
Bless you, Shirl
