PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to this special Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound.
I'm posting late today due to internet problems.(Finally got it fixed).

Today we are celebrating a mircle makeover for Colette Gautier who was diagnosed with breast cancer and was given only a 5-15% chance for survival from this disease. She is a single mom living in a small rental house and is facing the hardship and trials of chemtherapy.
Thanks to the brilliant design ideas of Kelee Katillac and Guideposts Magazine Colette's bedroom has received a magical transformation. To read about this amazing true life story about the makeover go here to Guideposts to see the video.

Below is a little Sunbonnet Sue needlekeep that I posted last week and have drawn a name for the winner of this little cutie! The winner is Laura from Laura's Rose Garden. Congrats Laura, I hope you enjoy her!

Beverly asked us to post something inspiring today for Pink Saturday and I'm posting about a fun little swap/trade that I had with a sweet blogging friend of mine. Deb from Garage Sale Gal. She asked me to trade one of my ribbon ladies for some vintage linens. I find the kindness in people that I've met on the internet so inspiring so I thought today would be a good day to post about this.

First I received from Deb this beautiful vintage crochet lavender pin cushion. I collect these and really love this one!

Next from Deb I receive this two cute little embroiderd towels.

An adorable little Chicken towel.

A sweet little deer towel.

A pretty little basket embroidered and crochet doilie and three beautiful handmade cards.

I made Deb this pretty victorian ribbon lady picture.

A few close ups.

Thanks Deb, I enjoyed this little swap with you and will treasure them.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you.
Due to my ISP problems I did not get to visit everyone that came to visit me last week but I'll be stopping by making visits all week.
I started back at school on the 18th with lots of meetings and students came back this past Monday. Where did the summer go? It's hard to believe were headed into fall!

PINK SATURDAY & SUNBONNET SUE GIVEAWAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

Today for my pinkness I have this pretty vintage sampler. Some of you might remember I posted a pic of this when I purchased it back in Jan. I took it out of the frame, washed and iron it, painted the mat pink and painted the gray frame white and antiqued it a little.

Sorry about the glare from the light. I have it all ready for my new sewing room that is still being remodeled. The sampler reminds me of the fireplace in my sewing room. I'd love to find some pink ceramic tile to do mine up this way. I'd like tile around the opening in the fireplace and on the floor in front of it. I have been looking but so far all the pink tile I find is more of an antique rose look. Isn't it just the cutest little emboidered sampler? Doesn't it look like a peaceful little place to hang out?

Below is what it looked like when I purchased it.

Next is my giveaway. Below is a cute little Sunbonnet Sue needle case that I made, she has some pretty little crystal beads on her hat and bouquet.

When you lift her skirt you will find a place to hold your sewing needles. To enter just post a comment on this post and if your not a follower please sign up as one. If you drag the pic and post my giveaway on your sidebar I will enter your name twice. Let me know if you do that so I can be sure to put your name in twice. I will post the winner next Saturday. Good luck!

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. Have a great week!

PINK SATURDAY & A GIFT FROM AN ANGEL

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event!

Beverly asked us to visit a new blog each week and the new one that I went to visit was ~~~~~Kitty And Me Designs~~~~~. Loved her blog and kitties too!

For my pinkness this week I'd like to share this little story with you.~~~~~~
I got an email from a gal named Deb, she said she looked at my blog and noticed that I liked vintage linens. She had some vintage pillowcases made by her Mother in Law and wanted to give them to someone who would appreciate them. She noticed my son was in the Army and she is an AirForce Mom and just chose me to give them to.

What a nice surprise the day the package arrived, I never expected to see so many pillowcases and they are all just beautiful.

Some closeups, I just love the little sheep on this set.

Deb is also an artist and drew this beautiful picture of an Angel with her wings around a soldier, it brought tears to my eyes since my son is deployed in Afghanistan and really needs those wings around him right now!

She had her art work printed on post cards with "God Bless Our Troops" printed on the back. She sent me a whole stack of them. Also in this package was a cute little magnet that says "Breathe". She said she used this term with the Air Force Mom's that were having a hard time adjusting. She told them"Sometimes ALL you can do is ~~~~Breathe~~~. In that breathing, you realize a calming. When you notice your breaths it can become a way to relax".
So you see I truly received a gift from an Angel.
Thank you so much Deb, I will always think of you when I use these pillowcases and send little prayers up for you and your son!

Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me share my little story with you.
Have a wonderful week!

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants.

Today's post is just "a touch of pink". Last week while setting on the porch in the evenings I emboridered this little country clothsline. I made it into a little quilt hanging from a vintage repo hanger.
Just a little pink in the flowers and some pink on the cupboard.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you.
