Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event!
Beverly asked us to visit a new blog each week and the new one that I went to visit was ~~~~~Kitty And Me Designs~~~~~. Loved her blog and kitties too!
For my pinkness this week I'd like to share this little story with you.~~~~~~
I got an email from a gal named Deb, she said she looked at my blog and noticed that I liked vintage linens. She had some vintage pillowcases made by her Mother in Law and wanted to give them to someone who would appreciate them. She noticed my son was in the Army and she is an AirForce Mom and just chose me to give them to.
What a nice surprise the day the package arrived, I never expected to see so many pillowcases and they are all just beautiful.
Some closeups, I just love the little sheep on this set.
Deb is also an artist and drew this beautiful picture of an Angel with her wings around a soldier, it brought tears to my eyes since my son is deployed in Afghanistan and really needs those wings around him right now!
She had her art work printed on post cards with "God Bless Our Troops" printed on the back. She sent me a whole stack of them. Also in this package was a cute little magnet that says "Breathe". She said she used this term with the Air Force Mom's that were having a hard time adjusting. She told them"Sometimes ALL you can do is ~~~~Breathe~~~. In that breathing, you realize a calming. When you notice your breaths it can become a way to relax".
So you see I truly received a gift from an Angel.
Thank you so much Deb, I will always think of you when I use these pillowcases and send little prayers up for you and your son!

HI Shirl,
Ewww a part of me would just like to stay anonymous and be in the wings,
but I wanted to share what a blessing back to me you have been. :)
Shirl, it was actually a Grandma-in-law who did the embroidery. Ever since my ex-hubby gave them to me more than 6 yrs ago, I had intended to do SOMETHING with them.
Well, it was my own parents deaths that prompted me to find them a home.
My Dad passed in Nov of 2009 and my Mom in Feb of this year. Breaking down their home, I realized ... things have to go.
Grandma Sophie's pillowcases were not something I could just send off to Goodwill. TRUST ME, I hunted and hunted online for just the right person for them.
I KNOW I found that person in you Shirl. !!!!
You did leave out the fact that you covered the postage for me mailing them your way. THANKS.
I sent them first and figured, IF I never heard back from you, that was okay too.
BUT hear back I did. Not only with the postage, but with 2 lovely decorations that have on my pencil tree right in my living room. I LOVE them, and I BLESS your heart everyday I walk by them. Sometimes many times a day I bless ya. LOL
One has red roses and that was my Dad's favorite. The other pink, my Mom's favorite roses. AMAZING.
Here are 2 links to the Angel drawing and the other to the Breathe one.
Please use these in any way you wish.
May they bring you support and blessings.
Much Love and THANKS
