PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.
Today I have just touches in pink in my foyer all decorated up for spring.

Below is the prettiest pic of Lily of the Valley sent to me last year by my Dear Sweet Friend Miss Peach of Miss Peach's Meow. Lily of the Valley is one of my favorite flowers and I have not been able to get them to grow here. I had a beautiful stand of them growing at my first home. I'm gonna keep trying though, I'd love to be able to make a bouquet like Miss Peach did in this pic.

Last week I showed you some pics of my little Ribbon Lady picture that I made, thank you all so much for your sweet comments about her.
I had several requests and emails asking if I was going to make these to sell.
Yes I will be selling them, I am looking for some nice frames, I think they would be best under glass.
When I'm ready to list some on my Etsy Shop I will be sure to post them in here first.

Some of you might remember last fall I showed you these bulbs that I was planting. Well they came up beautiful. The Allium is not open yet the the Tulip Angelique is just beautiful. Take a look.

There's some great new magazines out there on the newstands this week for you gals who love magazines like I do.
I have a three day weekend and I'm really enjoying relaxing on the porch and reading them. We had some lovely weather this spring in WV.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. Have a wonderful week!
Blessings to ya! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

First I'd like to thank you all for your kind comments last week about my son. Bless you all, you are so sweet! We have talked to him several times this week. Just can't grasp that he is so many miles away.

Today for my pinkness I have this pretty little Ribbon Lady that I made this week. I have admired these in antique stores for years and if in good conditon they are very pricey.
These Ribbon Ladies were first made in the 1920's and 30's with paper dolls, ribbons, laces and millinery flowers.
She apprared again in the early 50's and has been sleeping ever since.
I found a pattern book to make them several years ago and finally made one.
This Ribbon Lady I named Annie and she is a 1920's era.
She was so much fun to make and like the ones made years ago she is on black velvet.
She is not going to stay in this frame, I'm going to buy a shadow box or antique beveled glass frame to put her in.

In the closeups you can see the paperdoll.

Next I have a pretty little bouquet I picked from my garden this week.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you.
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings to ya! Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & CONGRATS TO MY SON

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

Before I get into my pink this week I just wanted to share the good news that my son Bob made Sergeant yesterday. We are so proud of him. He's done his training now and on his way to his deployment base. Congrats Bob, we love you and are so proud of you!!!!!!Be safe!!!!!!!

Now on to a little pinkness. Here's a cute little cross stitched pillow that I made last year. Has just a little pink but oh so cute!!!!!

I love silhouettes and this week I cross stitched this little one. Found this little frame in my stash and it worked out perfect.

Below is a pair of vintage silhouettes that I purchased on ebay, I did not read the auction good and was so sad when they arrived and one did not have the beveled glass. Oh well they are still adorable.
Some closeups.

Well that's it for this week, thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you!
Have a wonderful week!
Blessings, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & EASTER BLESSINGS!

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.
As Beverly requested I am posting some pics of my Easter decor.
Above is a picture of my Easter tree.

Below my old green chair in my foyer all done up for Easter.

A few little Easter decorations, please don't mind my old staircase still under construction.

A few closeups of Easter tree.

Some faux Easter cookies that my daughter Jen made for me a few years ago.

This little April pillow below I cross stitched this week. This is about the only thing I created this season for Easter, I had so many things planned but will tuck them away until next year. I guess I will get to creating some non-holiday things now.
I finally got over this really bad cold and I'm feeling much better now. Thank you all for your well wishes!
Yesterday was the first of 10 days off for me for Easter Break. I have so many things planned to do. Our weather has been in the 80's this week so I'm really enjoying some time outside also. Yesterday it was so pretty that I ate my lunch on the front porch. Just really loving this weather!

A few little Easter decorations in a peach country look. I painted this little bunny over 25 years ago.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visist with you.
I wish you a Blessed Easter! Shirl
