PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
Above I have a pic of my Blue Jacob's Ladder plant. My cats got to running and playing today and broke it down. Oh I was so mad at them. LOL. I thought I'd bring it in to enjoy rather than just let it die. Also in the vase a pink waterlogged rose from my garden. It's been raining for a week now. They are calling for a nice weekend, I've got my fingers crossed!

Next I have a pretty millinery hat that I purchased at an antique mall last weekend. It was only $8.00, I was going to take it apart to use flowers for crafting but I've not been able to do that. LOL For my WV blogging friends this antique mall is "Buckhannon Emporium" on Main Street in Buckhannon. It's a fun mall and I always come out with something when I go, prices are usually great!

I found this pretty teacup in the same antique mall, it's not vintage but pretty just the same. It was only $6.00. I have my Mother's teacup shelf that I'm still trying to fill up so I'm always happy to find one at a good price.
The back has a white wild rose on it.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I'll be back Monday with a Blue Monday post. Have a great weekend!
Bless you, Shirl

Pink Saturday

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound.
Above I have a pic of some Flea Market finds from this past summer. The pretty Victorian looking ones on the left I thought I would make their little baskets into a pincushion, they were probably made to hold flowers. The little girl with dog is so pretty, the detail in it is just incredible. I paid $1.00 for each one. The cute little box has a powder puff with powder still in it.

Above is a pretty little birthday planter that I purchased at the same Flea Market. I think that was $1.00 also.
When my hubby and I travel I always do needlework because I hate the tractor trailers on the roads. (they drive way to fast). I'm always loosing my scissors so when hubby was cleaning out his drawers at work he brought this little thing home for me. It grips anything that lays on it and does a great job of holding my scissors and sunglasses, only problem was that is was not pink and pretty!!! So I made this cute little pink yoyo brooch to pretty it up. I make this brooches in all colors to put on my coats and totes.

Now it's pretty!!!!!!
This is one of my favorite little tea cups with a cottage window and hollyhocks!

Thank you so much for stopping by for Pink Saturday! It was so nice to visit with you. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, ours was wonderful! I'm getting my Christmas decorations out today and hope to do a few more posts this week with the last of Thanksgiving and start on some Christmas posts.
Have a great weekend and Happy Pink Saturday!
Blessings, Shirl

Pink Saturday, 9/11 & More Greetings From The Outer Banks

I thought this flag at half mast was a touching tribute to the loss of loved ones on 9/11
Prayers to all the families. Also thank you and prayers to our men and women that are serving our country.
Welcome to my Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound.
I'm still at the beach but packed up and ready to head home tomorrow. We had such a wonderful time! I hate to see our time at the beach end but I'm excited to get home to my pets and see my grandson's and daughter!
Not to much pink this week, I found this pretty little cup and saucer at an antique store.

A close up.

These are really stretching the pink, maybe peachy, but they are my favorite seafood in the whole world. King Crab Legs, yummy!!!!!!! Sorry the pic is blurry!

Some pretty pink shells.

That's it for pink this week. Here are a few pics of Hannah passing through.
The bay went empty as she was passing through. We were told by the locals that this happened, still surprised me. Totally empty. The high spots were sand dunes.

In this pic you can see a man had walked out the check his crab traps.
A little closer, those sticks in the background are marking clam beds.
It filled back up several hours later and did not flood, we were lucky. If the water rushs back in fast we were told the area would have flooded for a few days.

The ocean was really rough, these were taken just after Hannah passed through.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I'll be posting more pics from my vacation in the next few weeks.
Blessings, Shirl

THE ROSE ROOM PARTY

My friend Rachael at The Rose Room is hosting a big bash in honor of her 100th post!!!
She is having a "It's Nice to Meet You" party to help us all become better acquainted.
AND if you do a couple of easy things that she asks, she will enter you in for some fabulous prizes!!

Congratulations to Rachael on her 100th post and I wish you many hundreds more!

First thing that Rachael asks is for us to share where we do our bogging~~~

My blogging space is in my bedroom and is being remodeled right now, but I will still show you how it looks now and share with you about some of my new plans for this area. The border is coming down and I am putting up a pretty shabby cottage rose print wallpaper on the top half of the walls,(sample below) a white wainscoting for the bottom half, oak trim around the windows and door frame, since most the furniture is Victorian Oak reproduction. Then most important is some crystal chandeliers will make my bedroom into the shabby cottage look that I am after!
This is where I spend my time blogging! Please feel free to click on the pictures and have a close look!

I got this beautiful leather chair for christmas this past year and I love it but so does my sweet little kitty, he loves to sharpen his nails on it so rather than have it destroyed I'm going to use it in my sewing room for my sewing chair. I just purchased a smaller one for this room that I am making a pink slipcover with a long skirt for it.
I just painted this desk chippy white and put the pink crystal knobs on it.
I would was trying to come up with something to cover the wires under the desk, so I thought I would make a skirt to go under the desk on a tension rod toward the back. I put skirts on everything! LOL
I made covers for all the computer pieces, for when they are not in use. Which is not often!
I've been looking for a little table to put to the right of the desk to hold the router, desk has a small top. I'm going to put a chandelier above the desk. The old desk had a table lamp but it had more room on the top.
Shelf above the desk.
To the left of the desk is a door that leads out to a porch that we are making into a four season sun room. For now I don't use the door so I have a table full of pretties to look at and garden trellice with tags and banners.
Sometimes I take my laptop outside on the porch on a nice day or my daughter comes over we have it on the kitchen island to show each other what cute blogs we found the day before.

Below is a pic of the wallpaper that I purchased to put in this room. Wow I guess I put up alot of pics, I am a very visual person so I tend to overdo on the pics! LOL
