PINK SATURDAY, AWARDS & TAGED OH MY!!!!!

Hello and Welcome to Pink Saturday!
Beverly of How Sweet The Sound, Is hosting PINK SATURDAY each week. All that means is that she posts something, ANYTHING, pink every Saturday for all the other pink lovers out there. She has asked any of us who would like to join her to go to her blog to link up with her on Saturdays.
If you are interested in doing "Pink Posts" on Saturday, just let Beverly know and we can all play together. Just do your Pink Saturday posts, send her a link each week you want to participate, and she will post the links on her Saturday post.
Feel free to click on the pics to get a larger viewI've baked a cake for company that will be stopping by this weekend. I made a dark chocolate cake with what else? Pink buttercream frosting!

I served these old fashioned pie crust cookies at my tea earlier this week and had some requests for the recipe. So here it is.
Use your favorite pie crust recipe. I think Crisco makes the best light and flaky pie crust, but you can use a mix or ready made pie crust.
Roll out to a rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, roll up like a jelly roll and slice in 1/4" slices. Bake on 400 till the get a little golden brown. They will keep in a jar or any air tight container. Enjoy!

This pretty chintz and velvet shoe bag I got from Victorian Trading Company. I bought it for my flip flops, I have so many and adore them, but when I saw this I thought it was much to elegant for flipflops. So I started a collection of vintage embroidered linens for it. I want to fill it with all southern bells.

This matches it and it's supposed to be a jewerly safe for when you are traveling. You put your jewerly in there then put clothing on the hanger.
Another item that matches but used in the kitchen is a bag holder.

I brought in some of my pretty pink hydrangeas.

Glads finally bloomed so I brought some pink ones.

The next few pics are great things that I found in an antique store this week. First is a pretty green enamel bowl and some embroidered napkins.
Next is a pretty plate with blue border and tiny pink rosebuds. I just fell in love with it. The figurine behind it I picked up for a dollar, I'm going to paint it in pink and blue.

A beautiful southern belle table runner and a pink crochet pot holder.

Look how sweet this little kitty is, she is Avon and still had the old fashioned scent inside.

Look how sweet these 50's plastic baby things are. I will use them in one of my guest bedrooms where I have some of my baby heirlooms. They only had touches of ink but had to share them with you anyway!

Cute little cross stitched sampler framed in pink! Could not pass that up!

I made this pink tea time wreath for my next guest bedroom that I will be redecorating.

My daughter Jen of Jennifers Petal Palace painted this cake board for my husbands and my anniversary.

A few Pink Saturdays ago I posted a pic of this print that I was thinking about getting for my bedroom, well I got lots of "go ahead and get it" so I did, it's prettier in person that in the catalog. It's from a catalog called Touch Stone. I have not hung it yet, I'm waiting until I get my wallpaper up.

That's it for Pink Saturday, now on to awards and a game of tag.
Arte y Pico award. This award was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creative energy and talents whether it be in the form of writing, artwork, design, interesting material, or contributions to the blogging community.
..I had the honor and privilege of receiving the Arte Y Pico award first from Lorena of Rose Chic Friends, now I have recieved it from Sheila of Note Songs. and Theresa of Take a Sentimental Journey. What an Honor and privilege this is to win this not once but three times, thank you SO much to all three of you. ! I so appreciate the wonderful people I have met out there in blogland!
Now on to tag!

I've Been tagged by my PRH Sister Judy of vintagetochic.
It's a get to know you tag and I need to answer 7 questions and pass it on to 5 friends.
1. Where Have You Traveled?
The first eight years of my life my father was in the Air Force so we move so many times. I was born in Calif, then we went to Newfoundland for fours years, then Illinois, then Kansas, South Carolina, Delaware, then he retired in NJ, (when I was eight years old), where I stayed until moving to West Virginia in 1989. We don’t travel to far for vacations, The Outer Banks of North Carolina is our favorite vacation spot, TN to visit my sister, NJ to visit family and historical places on the East Coast. The good Lord willing we plan to travel the east coast from Prince Edward Island to Key West Florida when my husband retires in a few years.
2, Where Would You like to Live?
Oh I love living in these beautiful mountains of West Virginia. We live in a very rural area, nothing but farms for about 3000 acres. Like our own little paradise but it only take 15 min. to get to town (and what a sweet little town it is) so it’s the best of both worlds. The only other place we would want to live is Cape Hatteras Island, NC but hurricanes keep us from doing that.
3, What is your decorating Style?
Country Victorian, Shabby Cottage Chic. I've always loved to decorate back as far as I can remember. When we first moved to NJ we found a little village called Rancocas Woods, it was full of decorating shops, we went their every Saturday and I remember all the beautiful furniture, linens, candles scents of the old log cabin pine incence burners. I started out liking the colonial dark pine furniture with print fabrics on the furniture. Then my mother in law told me to take anything from her basement that I wanted. It was full of Victorian treasures. I filled my apartment with all these treasures and had Country Victorian back in 1971.
4. How Many times have you been Married?
I’ve only been married once to the love of my life Edward, we have been married for 37 years.
5. Favorite Color:
Pink
6. What is your Proudest accomplishment?
Being a Christian, married for 37 years and raising two beautiful children that I am very proud of.
7,What would we be absolutely shocked to learn about you?
I can’t stand nubbies on the inside of my sweatshirts. Out the door when they get them. LOL Have you ever had nubbies?
Now my Tags go to:
Jen of Jennifer’s Petal Palace
Connie of Living Beautifully
Karen of Second Hand Rose
Sheila of Note Songs
Beverly of How Sweet the Sound
Well that's it for today and what a busy day we had! I hope you enjoyed this vist and have a wonderful weekend.
