BLUE MONDAY IN MY AMERICANA BATH

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. If you go to her blog you can get a list of all the other participants.
Today I'm showing you part one of my Amerciana Bath. I have always loved the Americana look and have collected things in this style for years. I had them packed away in a box since my home is being taking over by the pink and white shabby cottage look. LOL
I took so many pics and it is quite a large room, so much too look at, so I thought it best I break it up into 3 parts.

Here's a closeup of the wallpaper border. My friend Celeste from Celestina Marie Designs helped me to choose a paint color for the walls. Thank you Celeste for the great advise!

I tried to get a pic of each wall in here today and in the next few posts I will put close ups of all the pretties. I have alot of needlework in this room. Some that I treasure.

This bath is in the new part of our pre-civil war home and I designed it after a bath in my Aunt's Victorian home that I would spend a month with every summer when I was growing up. Her home was a treasure trove of beautiful things that all us cottage chic girls are collecting today. My Aunt's was not decorted in the Americana look, her's was pink and white true cottage vintage chic. I just styled the bones of the room like hers. White wainscoting, window molding and corner blocks.

I had always loved the pedestal sinks and was so happy to get one for this bath. My Aunt had one in her old Victorian house too.
The curtains are very old but I still love them. They are Dorothy's Ruffled Orginials from back in the 80's. You just can't find curtains with so many ruffles.

My Aunt's bath had a claw foot tub which I could not talk my husband into. Darn!

I remember my Aunt having a built in shelf like this in her bathroom so I had to have my husband build this for me. It took alot of time but I had to have it. LOL

I hope you enjoyed part one of my Americana Bath. Be sure to stop back for part 2 next Monday. Have a great week!
Bless you, Shirl

PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you stop by to visit her you can get a list of all the other participants. The pic above is a pretty tag that I made for my church meeting, (there are 19 more on my previous post), if you have not seen them yet scroll down and take a look. Please feel free to click on the pic to get a larger view.

The pic above is a pretty pincushion that I bought from my friends Etsy Shop. Maryjane from Beehive Cottage also sent me that crochet cloth and the pretty note pad below. Thank you Maryjane, your work is just stunning!

On Thursday I had a friend over for stitching day and lunch. We get together every once in a while to make something. This week we made an ice cream cone quilted wall hanging. I'll post the pic next week of our quilt tops. Below is a yummy yellow cake with pink buttercream frosting for our desert. My grandsons will be happy to see a real cake in the cake dish when they come in. With all the faux cakes around here they never know what they can eat. LOL

My sweet stitching friend Tracy surprised me with the pretty pink basket when she came over. Look how cute!

Tracy handpainted the pink on this basket and added a pretty lace with pink rosebud trim.
Filled with pink goodies inside, pink jellybeans, pink and mint green ribbon collection, a pink angel kit to make a safety pin angel, yummy raspberry almond M&M's and an egg card holder. Thank you so much Tracy for this thoughtful gift! Tracy does not have a blog so I can't link you to her.

My friend Miss Peach from over at Miss Peach's Meowz is still recovering from her surgery. Now her lapdaddy has had a heart attack. Please keep him in your prayers. Prayers hugs and purrs to you and your lapdaddy Miss Peach!

Thank you so much for stopping by. It was nice to visit with you. If you have time stop scroll down and look at my Blue Monday post from last week. I made some real pretty things for a church meeting. I will be back on Monday with part one of a three part post of my Americana Bath.
Bless you, Shirl

BLUE MONDAY

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally.

I showed these pretty bunnies on my Pink Saturday post but I thought you Blue Monday gals would like to see them. On Saturday night before Easter I realized that I forgot to make my daughter Jen something handmade to go with her Easter candy treats. My husband helped me draw up a bunny shape pattern and I did my touches of ribbon emboidery and look how sweet they came out. One was for my daughter and the other for my daughter-in-law. I'm making some now to sell in my Etsy shop.

Next I have to show you how pretty my next creations came out. They are not all blue but I feel have enough touches of blue to pass for this Blue Monday post. This month for my Catholic Daughters meeting there were two of us in charge of refreshments. It has gotten to be custom that they put some centerpieces out and decorate the table a little, sometimes the girls will give a party favor. The girl that I was working with on this project owns a restaurent so she said she would make the all the food and I could decorate. Sooooo I got my little mind going and thought "how cute it would be to make everyone a little tag with a vintage image on it. It was the day after Easter so we decided to do a Spring Theme. So I went with all the pastel colors of spring.

For the centerpiece I made the floral arrangement, three glass candle stands and also made four cottage chic birdnests, two of them were hanging birdnests. We always draw numbers and give the centerpieces away. I took the pics at home because it was to hectic at the meeting to try and get pics.

Here's closeups of the tags, if you click on the pic you can see a larger view of the picture and see all the pretty detail and bling that I added to the tags.

The girls just loved them. They had never seen tags before and thought they were so cute.

This is what I put on the back of each one.

Well that's it for this week. Thank you so much for stopping by it was so nice to visit with you. Next Blue Monday I will start a three part series of my Americana Bath. So much to see so I'm going to do it in three posts.
Bless you. Shirl

PINK SATURDAY & EASTER GIFTS

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
The pic above is the little bunnies that I embroidered for my daughter Jen and my daughter-in-law Tasha. They both loved them. I made them on Saturday night, just a last minute thing but I thought they came out so cute. I'm working on some now for my Etsy Shop.

The next pic is of my sweet friend Miss Peach, she is recovering from surgery poor girl, she went through so much, I'm still sending her prayers, hugs and purrs! Love you Miss Peach!

Now I have my pretty little Easter goodies that my daughter Jen made for me. Look how sweet this little faux cake is. I just love it.

Side view.

Look how cute with little doilies and pearl bead trim. I just love this.

She also made me these adorable little sugared eggs.

Look how cute they look hanging on my little valance over my kitchen sink. I don't have ocean front property. Just a wallpaper that makes it look like I do! LOL

Jen also painted this pretty little Easter sign.

And sweet little faux Easter sugar cookies. Thank you so much Jen for all these sweet things. I will always treasure them!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I'll be back with a post on Blue Monday. Try and stop back if you can.

BLUE MONDAY & BUNNIES IN MY BATH

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. If you go to her blog you can get a list of all the other participants.

Today I have my bath with lots of blue. This cute little chick banner I made last week to give my bath a little touch of Easter.

A little shelf in my bath with some Easter tucked in here and there.

This room needs a fresh coat of paint but I like the blue in here so much I think I'm just gonna stay with the same color.

A closeup of a little bunny plate from Avon.

Some cute little embroidered tea towels that my daughter Jen bought me a few years ago.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend! See you again on Saturday for Pink Saturday with Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.
