BLUE MONDAY

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally.
Yesterday we took my Grandson's out on the boat for the day. This beautiful lake is only five minutes from our home. As you can see it was a beautiful day out there on the water. The sky was just as blue as can be.

Some pretty Blue Love in a Mist. This was just my second season for this plant and I'm so happy it made it. I love blue flowers. It is spreading all along this fence. I had put that tomato cage there to remind my grandsons not to weed wack it down. LOL The original plant was given to me from a designer at the local florist.

A pretty blue Clematis growing up my proch railing.
These two plants I do not know what they are, they were both given to me last year and the lady had given me so many that I don't remember what she said they were. Does anyone out there know what they are?

A close up of the yellow. This is a large and beautiful plant. I'm hoping it will bloom all summer.

WHY WOULD A DEER CHASE MY SWEET LITTLE KITTY BENTLEY?
Do you know why a deer would chase a cat? On saturday my husband and grandson were working in the garden and heard a crashing up on the hill, they turned to look and here came my sweet little Bentley being chased by a deer. That deer was trying to stomp him with his front feet. Oh my poor cat could have been killed, I wonder why the deer would have felt threatened by my cat? My husband thought maybe it had a fawn up there in the woods. What do you all think?
Bentley getting a drink from the pitcher pump on the well.

Below is the hill that Bentley and the deer came running off of. Poor Bentley ran right though the garden then onto the front porch. His little heart pounding a mile a minute. The deer stopped at the garden where there is electric wire around it. Thank goodness that the deer was not able to stomp my poor little boy. I'd of been heartbroken without him. He is my sweet little kitty that loves to cuddle.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'll be back later this week with a post of a gift from a sweet blogging friend.
Bless you, Shirl

Shirl! What a terrifying experience! Poor Bentley! I'm assuming that the deer was a doe and not a buck, and if so, my guess would be the fawn. I know that bucks will chase a person during mating season. They become aggressive, so if it were a buck, that could be the reason.

Love your pretty blue flowers and your blue sky shots!

Happy Blue Monday and please give Bentley a pat for me.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Shirl, Oh that blue sky over the lake is gorgeous. Beautiful blue mist too. I have that flower too and not sure of the correct name but it is like a trailing petunia in mini size. I have it in pink. Your Clematis is beautiful. I planted it too and it is doing fairly well, but getting really hot here, so we shall see if I can keep it going.
Oh I am so happy that sweet Bently did not get attacked from the deer. Poor baby. Maybe she did have a fawn near by.
Have a wonderful week.
Love, Celestina Marie

Poor Bentley! I'd keep him inside, if I were you. I love your blues today, and you're not a bit late. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.

Well I am not familiar with deer behavior but protecting her baby makes sense! I'm glad kitty is ok.

Oh Shirl your place is so lush and green! I have no clue what that flower is either.

I guess I'm not much help at all today huh?

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Shirl, So sweet of you to stop by my blog. It gave me the chance to visit your wonderful photographs. Pink and roses, and vintage goodness! The little figurines I use in my pincushions are from old nursery lamps. They can be found on Etsy or E-bay and cost about $35.00 apiece! I make and give most all of mine away on my blog. Stay tuned! I can't wish you a happy "blue" day but I can wish you happiness, sweetpea!!! LOL That clematis is so pretty. We have one just like it and it seems to be okay, whereas, 7 others have died much to our dismay.

Your flowers are soooo beautiful!!!

About two years ago when we were at Canaan Valley we seen a deer chasing a cat at the Resort. We thought it odd but then when we got home there was a deer chasing a cat down the road. I think deer just don't like cats!

When my dog Two was a pup she was trying to chase the deer out of our yard and I seen one run up to her and do a headbutt to my dog! Scared the pants off of Two that she wouldn't chase the deer for a long time!

I have had a deer come down from the woods and stand there snorting at me and stomping it's feet because it didn't like me in MY yard!!! I ran to my truck and got inside. I told my husband that he needs to let me carry a gun around and should that happen again I would shot it. And I would!!! But he won't let me.... Sigh!

That's it for my deer stories! lol

God Bless!

Shirl,

Beautiful photos of the lake! It looks like it was a wonderful day to be on the water. How lucky you are to live so close to it!!

I love the blue flowers. They remind me of cosmos...so feathery and light.

I hope Bently has gotten over his fright. I agree with your husband that the deer might have been distressed. I have been told by many at the lake that animals will only bother you or your pet if they feel they are cornered. And I do worry about that because we have everything from deer to coyotes to raccoons... and my dogs are little.

I will look for your this week, Shirl! :-)

xoxo
Jane

I have seen deer do many weird things over the years! Poor kitty!Great flowers. My clematis is a beast! I could beat it, burn it or chop it to death and it grows insane! Did I mention it flowers when "It" feels like it an din strange spots? Take care of you and kitty! Lori

Shirl, Poor Bentley! I'm betting the fawn, they get very aggressive and protective.

I love your Jackmanii Clemantis! It's beautiful! I use to have one growing over my garden arch when I lived in Maryland. I tried growing them here, but no luck.

Have a wonderful week!
