Well it's hard to believe it's the day after Christmas already. My how time does fly! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was beautiful, an old fashioned white Christmas. My children and grandchildren came and spent the day with my husband and I. We had such a nice time laughing and sharing memories of past times! My son is being deployed to Afghanistan in Feb of 2010 so this was important for us all to be together this year.
I thought I'd share some of my Christmas decorating pictures with you. Being sick I was not able to get all my pictures up in the past few weeks.
With the major snow storm we had in WV my ISP was out so I did not get to visit alot of blogs. I plan to get caught up on my visits this week. Some blogs are glitching for me and I visit them but cannot post a comment. So please don't think I don't visit you all because I try my best to visit back everyone that is kind enough to visit my blog and post a comment. I really love all your sweet comments.
Below is a picture of the older side of my home which I don't show that often. This part was built pre-civil war. You can see how much snow we had and it was still coming down when this pic was taken. The garage is not orginal to the home.
Christmas lights on the side porch of our home. Pic is a little blury.
We have a new member in our family. My daughter Jen adopted this sweet little Chi from her friend who had to move and was not able to take her along. This is Angel and she has stolen our hearts. We bought her this cute little red corduroy jacket with black fur trim for Christmas. Here she is relaxing on my couch on Christmas Day! She get's along fine with Molly the Newf, Goldie and all my cats!
Look how cute, even has little pockets in the back!
Here's my sweet Angel. I love when she strikes this pose with her paws.
Some yummy cookies that we snacked on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Here's our Christmas tree in our family room.
It's a collection of all types of ornaments.
This year I added all my tree top angels to the tree. I took out the cones and just draped their dresses in the branches.

Were still feeding the deer right off our front porch. You can see them running in for the feed here in this pic.
Their coming out of the woods on this side before my husband walks away. He's hoping to be able to feed them from his hand. They get closer everyday.
Thank you so much for stopping by. It was so nice to visit with you. I'll be back on Monday with a Blue Monday post and I might join in this week on a Red-Wednesday post. I'm off from school until Jan. 4th for Christmas break and I'm enjoying my time off so much. I do love my job but I'm such a homebody that I love being home nesting, sewing, crafting, reading and cooking! Blessings to you for a Happy New Year!

Picture perfect. Your home is beautiful - pre-civil war, that's amazing. The snow and deer - how wonderful you can feed them on your porch. I'm sure they are grateful.

Your home is like a magazine pictorial. Everything looks enchanting in the snow. Be sure to let us know when your husband has tamed the deer to eat from hand.
Hello Shirl,
Your pictures sure make me miss my home state of West Virginia. I miss the snowy mountains. You always take me back.
I love all your Christmas decor and I am so glad that you and your family were able to get together despite the bad weather.
I will be praying for your son as well as all of our troops. God Bless them.

Shirl...your Christmas sounds lovely! Ohhhhhhhh the dog and kitty are so cute, too!
I LOVE the deer!! Many years ago, while on vacation, a small deer was wandering in the middle of a country road I was driving down...and I stopped for it...it approached me, when I offered it some dried cherries and ate directly from my hand. I was looking around for mama deer and I spotted her in the trees watching silently. Eventually the youngster sauntered away...into the trees...to his mama! That was so precious!!
What beautiful Christmas pictures, it's just like out of a story book. Your tree is over the top! I love it. And your hand made ornaments are so special. How cute is that pup, lucky you and lucky dog. The deer pictures are just lovely. What a great winter wonderland you have. I really enjoyed your post, and I wish your son the very best as he goes off to Afganastan again? We love our Military. God Bless and have a great day. Pearl
