PINK SATURDAY & VALENTINE DECORATING

Hello and welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by the Sweet Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the participants.

We are having a major snow storm in WV today. No school yesterday because the storm was supposed to start with ice. I'm enjoying a long weekend with my surprise day off and I did some decorating that I'd like to share that with you.

Below are some decorating pics from my living room. Please feel free to click on the pic so you can get a closer look. My daughter Jen is on the left and my son Bob is on the right. Bob deploys on Feb 21st for Afganistan. I'm trying very hard to not let this get me down. I'll just start counting the days until he comes home. I always try and look for the good in everything, this is gonna be a hard one.

Some close ups.
My cute little vintage Nancy Ann doll that I dressed up for Valentine's Day.

A shelf over my couch that I decorated up for the holiday. I got the idea of using hankies on a mentel shelf from my friend Deb at Garage Sale Gal. She has the cutest things on her blog.

Some close ups.
My daughter Jen made me this pretty flower arrangement several years ago when she was working at the local florest.

A few cross stitch pillows that I have made over the years.
A close up.

Another corner in my living room. The picture on the right is my Mom and Dad on their wedding day. The one on the left in my Mom taken in the 70's.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to visit with you. I'll be back next Saturday with a Pink Saturday and also on Sunday Feb. 14th for my Amour Valentine Swap.
Blessings to ya! Shirl

Happy Pink Saturday Shirl...
I love this post. Oh my gosh, I could spend hours looking at all of your beautiful things. My goodness gracious. I love the old looking vintage Valentine's Day cards. I also loved the teapots that were hanging, so cute.

All the pillows are so beautiful. It must take you a long time to get things set up. They are showcase beautiful sweetie.

I loved your mantel with the pics of your children. I will continue to pray for Bob until he comes home. He is added to my prayer journal, and will stay there each night until we get him back on American soil.

Thank you for sharing with me today. I love it when you do. You have such beautiful things in your home.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

Shirl, your VDAY cookies on your blog header always make me SOOO hungry!:0)

What a beautiful mother you have. Love the pic of your parents together. Sweet pic of Jen & Hubby together that I hadn't seen before. Did you make the pink heart pillow by their pic? I love the Cherished Teddies picture frame with cross-stitch in it. The decorated shelf is lovely, just brimming with treasures ~ but that idea wouldn't work at our house ~ Kenny is like a bull in a china closet, and he would knock everything off of it at least twice a day!!LOL

Good morning Shirley,

Loved all your pictures. You have the sweetest, prettiest things in your home. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures. The shelf above your sofa is so pretty! Love those gorgeous handkerchiefs.
We are going to be home today until possibly later in the day. Snow and wind here in Indiana. Hubby and I will need to work on our driveway before getting out.

Enjoy your long weekend!! Mary

Hi Shirl! Wow! I just couldn't stop smiling as I was reading through your post today. It was pink romantic heaven! Your daughter is a true beauty, and your son looks to be a fine, handsome young man. I said a prayer for him as I read that he was deploying for Afghanistan this month. My heart is with you. I read a bit further, and discovered we have something in common. I adore doing ribbon embroidery. Your pincushions are just lovely, and I wish I could give your son's cat a hug! He's so cute. I hope you have a good weekend. Cast all your cares on Him. I forgot to sign up for Pink Saturday but I posted anyway. If you're able, I'd love to have you stop by and pay a visit. You can find me at www.terrimorse.typepad.com
