Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.
This weekend I'm off to a quilt retreat. A much needed little getaway for "me". I promised myself that I was not going to go to any more retreats or take anymore classes until I finished up past projects. But I broke my promise, I really need a weekend of sewing and no cooking or cleaning.
The classes offered I could not resisit. I will be making a handbag from a placemat at my mini workshop and then I will be making a small Brazilian Embroidery quilt for my weekend class.
The pic above is a project from a previous retreat that of course is still not finished. It's called Brazilian Embroidery. The pic below is the colors that came in the kit but of couse I did mine in pink. By the end of the class alot of the girls liked my pinks and bought the pink pearl cotton before leaving the class.
The next project that I did at that same retreat, is still unfinished LOL, It's going to be a small quilt and it's called Split Heart Applique . Here's just a few of my blocks. All pink of course!
Below is a pic of what the quilt will look like done but of course I did mine in pink. The girls in this class were so cute, they said they will never look at pink again without thinking of me. I was known as the "pink girl" before the weekend was over.
Anyway since I won't be here for Pink Saturday I will be visiting your blogs during the week. I'm so looking forward to this little time for sewing and relaxing with friends. Next week I'll be getting into some Easter decorating and crafting.

Next I have to show you the rest of my St. Patricks decor. Some touches of pink here and there.

I love the Saint Paddy's tree. Your pinks are beautiful. Happy Pink Saturday.
Oh my! Your St Paddy's tree puts mine to shame! Love the split heart quilt too! Happy pink, Marcia
Your quilt in the hearts will be gorgeous! Can't wait to see it finished! I love your St. Pat's day tree. All of the green looks so nice on the white tree. I used to do a St.Pat's tree but there is too little time in between St.Pat's and Easter so I have given it up and go straight to Easter after Valentine's Day.
I plan on posting my Easter pics for the following pink Saturdays so please stop by.

Hi Shirl. I made the cookies per your instructions. They turned out okay. I've never done cake decorating. I hope you enjoy your retreat. I love your tree. The top hats are so cute. I'm impressed with all the projects you've started. You are very talented.
I love the quilt! It looks so hard, but beautiful!
Happy PS!

Oh my gosh I love this post. I just absolutely adore all your pink class projects. That split heart quilt is so stinkin cute. I adore it. I love the ball too that you are working on. Embroidery? It is so unusual. I can see why you wanted to take this class.
And your St. Patty's Day decorations. OMG what beauty you have shared here. I love it all truly. The tree is just DDG, and I love the little green cat by the tree. What an element of surprise she was. Just adorable.
Can't wait to see what you have gaunted off to make this weekend. Wish I could've tagged along too.
Have a beautiful weekend. Country hugs sweetie..>Sherry

Oooh, Shirl, where to start today with my gushing?!?! I have never heard of Brazilian Embroidery, but wow, isn't that just beautiful!!Love your lil' green tree ~ the hearts with the SRE are so pretty. Love the little St. Paddy Bear you cross stitched, too. And I've never seen shimmery aida cloth like on your Bless you Irish Heart piece! Very pretty. Did you make the pillows yourself? That last popcorn quilt type one with the girl with the shamrocks on the hem of her dress is especially darling!
Hope you are having a great time at your quilting retreat!

Hi Shirl! Your quilt is going to be beautiful! I love the look of the soft pinks. I'm a quilter too. I spent yesterday at my local quilt shop gathering fabrics for a new quilt. Your St. Patrick's day collection is so bright and cheerful. Have a great week! Terri

Hope you had fun at retreat, it is so fun to go. UFO's are a way of life for quilters (and I am sure we are not alone). Love the St P day decorations, very cute. I don't decorate for holidays (except Christmas), I do seasons. Happy PS
Dear Shirley, I haven't been to your blog in ages, although I have it listed on mine as one that I follow! As always, your blog is simply gorgeous. Did you make the darling pillows with the St Patty's girls on them? If so, how did you do this? I hope you are having fun at your retreat! Loretta
Lovely blog!!!! All the things are wonderful here!
Kisses from Brasil,
