Welcome to another Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Since Sunday is May Day I thought I would show my pretty little faux May Day cake that my daughter Jen made for me several years ago. I just love this sweet little cake. I can still remember my first May Day Celebration, I was 6 years old and it was at my church. We actually made a May-Pole much like the one on this cake. I can still close my eyes and smell the wonderful scent of all those beautiful flowers. Our chuch we attend now has started doing a May Procession and everyone is asked to bring a fresh flower to put on Mary's Alter. I look forward to it every year.
When my sister and I were young we used to make paper cones out of doilies and fill them with fresh flowers then hang them on people's door knobs on May Day. What fun we used to have in those days!

So pretty!
Would you please come and see my PINK, thank you!
Always praying for those Military men in your life!
I love May Day and attended Catholic school so we did the traditional May crowning of the Blessed Mother and laid flowers in front of a large statue of her. I love participating in MayDay and plan to sneak some pretty flowers in a pretty holder to a few neighbors front doors.
Love love love the faux cake. I would love to have a tutorial on this! I see them a lot of places but this one is so pretty. I am glad you decorate with it. It is lovely.
HPS and have a terrific weekend. Anne

Good Morning Shirl - the cake is so pretty and sweet. I too remember sweet May Day when I was a child. I use to make up little tussie mussies - probably the same thing - and leave them on all the neighbors doors. I hope children today are doing such sweet things! Thanks so much for sharing and the walk down memory lane. Happy Pink Saturday to you...
Hi Shirl! Your table and the May Day cake are just beautiful. I hadn't thought about May Day in years! When I was in elementary school, we would celebrate May Day. There was an outdoor celebration with a decorated maypole. We would each hold a streamer and walk around the maypole until the streamers were braided around the pole. I hope you and your family are all well. Hugs, Terri
That cake is adorable! I love cake sooo much! I have a couple of chenille bedspread cakes that are my "treasures". Your daughter is so creative. Lucky you!!
