My dear sweet mother passed away 25 years ago this November. Not a day has gone by that I don’t think of her and miss her.
She had a heart of gold! Such a sweet and gentle soul. She filled my life with happiness each and every day. I learned so many wonderful things from her! Please feel free to click on the pics to see a larger version!
Below is Mom in 1978. She always looked so pretty!
Mom and Dad's wedding picture. Her and my father got married in 1941 just before he left for WW 2. I wanted to share with you some of her pictures, she had such a beautiful sense of style as you can see from these pics. She always wore a hat gloves and beautiful shoes. I guess that is where I get my love of clothes!
She used to send my father these beautiful pics while he was away at war.
Mom decorated store front windows in Philadelphia during the war and again in Florida after the war. She always decorated our home beautifully. No matter where we lived, my father being in the Air Force we moved a lot, she always made our house a cozy little home. I guess that’s where I get my decorating from!

Mom with her two nephews.
She and my fathers sister were the best of friends and they were always together while their husbands were at war. They were just beautiful, weren’t they? Aunt Jeans (on left) husband did not make it home from the war, he was in the Navy and was buried at sea. My Aunt raised her three children by herself. She was a wonderful person to, I loved her dearly.
Here' my Mom and my Aunt Jean years later in1972 with my daughter Jennifer.
After the war my father was stationed in Florida, Mom always said it was like a paradise for them, they had a little one room apartment close to the beach and were as happy as can be. Just the two of them.

That was absolutely beautiful! Your mom was just like my mom. I have pictures of her sitting by the radio and listening during the war when my father was on a ship. She was so into gorgeous clothes. Ya got me crying though about your mom dying and dad being so lost without her. Just beautiful remembrance of her, sweetpea.
Smoochies,
Connie

Hi Shirl, I just had to come back. I read your sweet comment on my "cross stitch" post. How neat to own a cross stitch shop! Do you ever think you will ever open another? I wish we lived closer....we seem to have so much in common. We would probably spend our day out on the front porch together, stitching! blessings, Kathleen
Shirl, I love this post. Your Mom is so beautiful in these pictures. What a wonderful tribute to her.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Shirl, What a beautiful tribute to your gorgeous Mother! I just loved your post. I can see why you are the beautiful person you are and so talented. Your Mother sure raised you well. I can understand your dad being lost without her, but the special thought is, they are together now forever.

Hi Shirl,
What a lovely tribute to your mom. She was so pretty and thin! LOVE her clothes, too. She sounds like she was a beautiful person on the inside, too. I'm sure it was very bitter/sweet for you to put this together. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Patricia :o)
Hi Shirl, I am glad you told me you love the broom vac because I read some bad reviews on Amazon and was skeptical.

Shirl!! HI dear, so happy we've met! I must say there is certainly a resemblance between our Mom's and their story of their early years! I so loved this post! And thank you so much for offering to make my Marc a tag! If you'll email me I'll send the address. When I get caught up I will be adding you to my list of places I love to visit! Lori
