ROAD TRIP, AWARDS & TAG

Hello and welcome, we are getting packed up and off on a road trip. We just bought a new truck and need to get it broken in before we go to the beach in Sept. and pull our boat. We have been wanting to go to Gettysburg, Pa. for sometime now so we thought we would go there and then make our way to NJ to visit family & friends. I've got my totes all packed with plenty of needlwork and of course good things to read.

I've tucked in my totes all the good reads that came in the mail this week, the one below is published in Austrilia giving you so many great ideas for crafts, decorating and sewing. I get quite a few of the Australian magazines, they have wonderful ideas for needlework, crafts and decorating.

Romantic Homes and Romantic Country are two magazines that I also enjoy reading!

The late summer and early fall mail order catalogs are also starting to come in so I tucked my favorite of them in my tote.

Gooseberry Patch is a long time favorite of mine, I get most of my quilted tablecovers for my kitchen table from them. MaryJanes Farm is a magazine that I have recently started to buy. This is my second issue and I love it.
So I'm all packed up and ready to hit the road hoping to find some interesting gift shops, antique stores, flea markets and wonderful historical sites. Then on to see loved ones. I'll be back Monday and will post pics of my trip and treasures.
I'VE BEEN TAGGED!
I was tagged by my friends at Jan & Tom's place to do a get to know you better tag.
This one asks you to list "6 Unimportant things about youself"
Here are the rules~~~~~~
1. Link this back to the person that tagged you.
2. Post these rules in your blog.
3. Share 6 unimportant things about yourself.
4. Tag people at the end of your entry.
So here are six unimportant things about me~~~~~
1. I owned a cross stitch shop in NJ before retiring to WV, called Shirley's Strawberry Basket.
2. I love cats and when a stray comes knocking I have to adopt it.
3. I collect samplers and have my two walls in my staircase lined ceiling to floor in them.
4. I love flip flops and have them in every color, bling, fuzzy, terry, plaids and satin!
5. In the winter I wear soft comfy fleecy sweatsuits around the house but the top and bottom have to match in color, have no stripes down the sides and when they get nubbies inside they get tossed in the trash!
6.As soon as I get up in the morning I love to go outside and smell the fresh air, no matter the season.
Now I tag.
2. Rhea of Miss Rhea's
3. Steph of Angelic Accents
4. Sheila of Note Songs
On to Awards~~~~~
I was awarded this Brillante Weblog Premio 2008 not once but twice from The Scarlet Rose Garden and from A Hint of Home.
I am honored to get this award and thank you both.
The rules are~~~~~~
1. Display logo and link to who gave it to you.
2. Nominate at least 7 blogs
3. Add links to those 7 blogs

I'm passing this on to these blogs that I find so inspiring and a joy to visit~~~~~~
2. Steph of Angelic Accents.
3. Rhea of Miss Rhea's
4. Tracy of Casa Maria
7. Debbie of Wisteria and Roses

Love your header - it looks like Crownford - I have some the smae pieces of Roses and Ivy. Crownford went out of business about 8 years ago after 80 years- sadly.
