Rose Wednesday & Other Mussings

Hello and welcome to Rose Wednesday hosted by Jan & Tom's Place. Stop by to see them to get a list of all the other participents.

Before I show my Rose Wednesday I wanted to let you all know about a give-away from my friend Jenni over at JenniB Originals. I first saw Jenni on Martha Stewart last year when she was on and making faux pasteries. (I love faux pasteries) Martha Stewart has the greatest guests! Well now JenniB is giving those very pasteries away. The same one's that Martha Stewart took home and used in a book that will be soon published. Stop by to see JenniB and enter in her giveaway!

First I have a very old little beaded purse. I found this in an antique mall and got it for a mere $10.00.

The beads are very tiny, I've never seen any as tiny as these.

Next I have a pretty silver bowl that has been painted white and a beautiful vintage print has been attached and painted with pretty roses. This was made by my friend Judy of Vintage To Chic. She had attended a craft show a few weeks ago and my daughter and I went to meet her. We had a great time and it was so much fun to meet a blogging friend. Her booth was just the prettiest in there. The only one with a pretty pink Victorian look. When I saw this it reminded me of my parents so it just had to come home with me.

Judy was sweet enough to gift me with this beautiful decorated box. I love this and I'm redecorating one of my guest bedrooms in pink and yellow so she will fit perfect in there.

I've been busy making things and thought I would post some pics for you. I have been looking for a faux hot chocolate and could not find one anywhere, so I decided to make one myself. Here is my first attempt at a faux beverage.

A closeup, it's not perfect yet, I'll have to tweek the next one just a little bit.

My daughter Jen of Jen's Petal Palace and I went on a shopping trip the weekend before last and I did some stitching while Jen was driving. I did this November pillow, they are called "Tie One On", it was from a kit of the month club. It comes with a cute little quilted pillow form, you just slip the pillow form in and tie a bow each month.

Here's December, I love this fabric that they are done on it's called Betsy Ross Linen and it's a large count and so much fun to work on. In my old age I can't see those fine linens anymore. LOL

Look how cute this is, I found the basket already lined in velevt and the big lolli's were also in the same store. Of all stores it was a Family Dollar. I repackaged the lolli's in saran and some red bows. My grandson's will get to eat them on Christmas Day. They don't think they are real. Poor kids , now they ask "is this real or fake". LOL

This I did not make but wanted to share it with you. I collect vintage pillowcases and found one christmas one several years ago. I can't wait every year to pull this out and have not been able to find one for hubby's pillow. Does he care? No, not at all. Just so he's got a pillow that's all that matters to him.

Another faux cake I made this fall. I made it using a pumpkin candle then making the frosting from lightweight spackling.

My seasonal table in my foyer.

This is a real cake, it was my Grandson's 18th birthday the day after Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day at my house. Waiting the arrival of guests. We had a wonderful day. Lots of leftovers but my Grandsons took care of that in between hunting and football. Three teenage boys have a very hearty appetite!

I had cross stitched this Fall Holly Hobbie years ago and just made it into a pillow this past month. I'm stuck on Holly Hobbie! This is also in my foyer.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was so nice to share and visit with you.

Blessings, Shirl

It's all wonderful, chickee!! I hope the boys didn't eat the flowers on their cake though. They look like silk ones! But the faux chocolate looks perfect to me. I don't know how you get the light spackle to "dribble" down the cake though. I have a hard time getting it to look even half way decent.
Smooches,
Connie
