PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound. You can go to her blog to get a list of all the other participants.
The picture above is of a pretty Christmas Village that I love. I have it on a shelf in the landing of my staircase. The Let It Snow was made by my daughter Jen of Jen's Petal Palace.

The pretty Southen Belle dish I bought this past week in an antique store with some Christmas money from my daughter. I also got a vintage sled which I will post a before and after pic of later.

A pretty pair of glittery pink trimmed Skechers I picked up at Kohl's using some of my free money from them. I really love that store!

The pretty sampler above is very special to me. My best friend that I've know since we were eight years old was really going through some rough times. She lost her little boy to cancer back in the 80's but as you can imagine you never get over it. Anyway I thought I would teach her to cross stitch to get her mind off things. It was great for her, she was so busy counting those stitches that she could not think of anything else. Needless to say she stitched one thing for me and never stitched again. She was determined to make this little sampler for me, {click on it so you get a bigger pic} it's so cute she ran out of room and made it all fit just like the little school girls did back in the 1800's. When she got it done she took it to another friend of mine who owned a cross stitch shop to get it framed. Well Joan had stitiched it so close to the edge of the fabric that my friend had to sew the fabric on it to be able to frame it. I have a hugh collection of samplers but this is my favorite.

Look how pretty this is, I just purchsed it on ebay this week. It's made from a vintage post card applied to wood. It's big about 12 inches tall. I just love it. You can go here to visit her ebay auctions.

This pretty little calendar is from my friend Karen from A Second Hand Rose.

The picture above is a Christmas swap from a friend of mine. She does not have a blog so I can't put a link here for you. A few closeups below. These colors are perfect because I'm doing one of my guest rooms in pink and yellow. I can't wait to create with these beautiful fabrics.

The last picture is a sneak peek at my Christmas gift from my daughter Jen. I will be posting what's inside at my Christmas Tea Party with Jan & Tom on Jan. 8th.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was nice to visit with you. Please try to stop back for my teaparty on Jan. 8th.
Have a Happy and Blessed New Year,
Shirl

Shirl, this post brought tears to my eyes! Oh that cross stitch!! What a beautiful thing. I feel so bad for the poor women. She did a beautiful job on that!! It would be my favorite too :) You are so sweet to have helped her like that.

I love the village! And of course the sign that Jen painted! The plate is to die for! I love anything southern belle :)

Everything Sherry gave you in the swap is so pretty and just perfect for your room redo!

What a wonderful present from your friend. I spent 37 days in the hospital with my last pregnancy and one of the nurses taught me to cross stitch. I'll have to look for the sampler I made back then. It is very soothing to do cross stitch. What a wonderful friend you must be!
Happy Pink Saturday!
