BLUE MONDAY

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday. Our hostess is Sally from Smiling Sally. Thank you Sally for hosting this fun event.

My blue for you today is this pretty pincushion made by my dear sweet friend Ellen from Sweet Memory Making Mom. Her creativity just amazes me! She makes the most beautiful pincushions and tea cozies! This one has all my favorite things going for it, first it's blue, then it's done using a 30's repo print that I love and last but not least it has bits and pieces of vintage bling here and there. Every now and then I treat myself to one of her pretty pincushions. What a wonderful day when it arrives! Thank you Ellen for being blessed with such creativity! Love you!

Next picture below is not blue but I wanted to give you all the chance to win this pretty pink silk embroidered heartstrings. I am having a giveaway for my 100th post which was on my Pink Saturday Post. Please scroll down and leave a comment on that post to enter in the drawing. I will be printing the comments from that post for the drawing so you need to leave your comment there if you'd like to enter. You can drag this picture to your blog and put a link to my blog and I will enter your name twice. Let me know in comments if you do that so I'm sure to enter you again.

These are the other items that will be in the giveaway. A beautiful vintage bowl made in Italy, a tiny vintage cottage chic print and the current issue of Country Living and one of my favorite magazines Southern Lady and of course the embroidered heartstrings.

The next two pics are not blue but they are why I was blue last Sunday when we woke up to more snow. You can see Molly the Newf (under tree) running out back to greet my cat who hides out in the waterfall pipe, a fun little game the two of them play. This pic is in her fenced in area off the back door. She's got about an acre here to run and play in daily.

Here's a pic of Molly that I snapped through the window. She loves the snow and will lay there and let a good inch pile up on her before she will shake it off. I usually set in those chairs to brush her one a nice day, but that's not gonna happen in this weather!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
Bless you, Shirl

Pretty blue pincushion. I'd be blue with snow too. I don't know how animals stand it, but you proved that some enjoy themselves. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.

Shirl, You are such a sweetheart. What a wonderful suprise to come over her and see your lovely write up on my pin cushions. I am so humbly appreciative and thankful. You are such a precious close friend. Thank you so much. You put a smile on my face! Which I need. I woke up to lots of snow and now I will have to brave the heavely snowed hilly roads to get to work at the hospital later today!

Have a Blessed Day! warm hugs, Ellen

Such a pretty blog. I really enjoy looking at everything. Happy Blue Monday. PS. I live in Kansas and we usually get snow but this year has been unusually dry and warm (today is cold however). I miss the snow!

Lovely pincushion you have. Your dog is beautiful. There was a solid black one at the humane shelter a few weeks ago. Someone applied to adopt him while we were there. He was enormous! Happy Blue Monday!

The pin cushion is so very pretty! LOVE the photos of your Molly. She is wonderful and so pretty in the snow. I loved my Tibetan Mastiff I owned for years. He too loved the cold and what little snow we saw! He went to doggie heaven last year and I miss him dearly.

Shirl,

No one creates with silks and thread like you do. Everything you make is stunning and from the heart.

I love the blue pincushion too. Whoever thought that the older you get the more you love the pretty, little things in life. I guess it's maturity.

Well, I jumping in on your contest and hoping for the best (keeping fingers crossed). Thank you for the invite my friend.

Hey Shirl!
Thanks for visiting me! We used to make a trip to Weston 4 or 5 times a year just to go the an antique shop ~ A Penny Saved ~ it closed and now we only pass through Weston on our way to Canaan Valley for our vacation in the summer. My husband goes there for work a couple times a year in Buchannan. The antique store is where I bought most of my West Virginia Glass that's on my blog. I'm sure you've seen a lot of the West Virginia Glass! hehehe It is very hard to find the ones with the roses on it down here in the Charleston area.
Happy Blue Monday!
Hugs,
Angela
