BLUE MONDAY IN MY AMERICANA BATH

Hello and welcome to Blue Monday hosted by Sally of Smiling Sally. If you go to her blog you can get a list of all the other participants.
Today I'm showing you part one of my Amerciana Bath. I have always loved the Americana look and have collected things in this style for years. I had them packed away in a box since my home is being taking over by the pink and white shabby cottage look. LOL
I took so many pics and it is quite a large room, so much too look at, so I thought it best I break it up into 3 parts.

Here's a closeup of the wallpaper border. My friend Celeste from Celestina Marie Designs helped me to choose a paint color for the walls. Thank you Celeste for the great advise!

I tried to get a pic of each wall in here today and in the next few posts I will put close ups of all the pretties. I have alot of needlework in this room. Some that I treasure.

This bath is in the new part of our pre-civil war home and I designed it after a bath in my Aunt's Victorian home that I would spend a month with every summer when I was growing up. Her home was a treasure trove of beautiful things that all us cottage chic girls are collecting today. My Aunt's was not decorted in the Americana look, her's was pink and white true cottage vintage chic. I just styled the bones of the room like hers. White wainscoting, window molding and corner blocks.

I had always loved the pedestal sinks and was so happy to get one for this bath. My Aunt had one in her old Victorian house too.
The curtains are very old but I still love them. They are Dorothy's Ruffled Orginials from back in the 80's. You just can't find curtains with so many ruffles.

My Aunt's bath had a claw foot tub which I could not talk my husband into. Darn!

I remember my Aunt having a built in shelf like this in her bathroom so I had to have my husband build this for me. It took alot of time but I had to have it. LOL

I hope you enjoyed part one of my Americana Bath. Be sure to stop back for part 2 next Monday. Have a great week!
Bless you, Shirl

Hi Shirl,
You sure put a lot of work into your bathroom! I see lots of blues in there too. Love the little cupboard in the wall and the ruffled 'Priscilla' curtains! Thanks for sharing and have a Happy Blue Monday.

Blessings,
Sandi

Lots of blue eye candy here, Shirl. Your husband is a good builder; that shelf is so neatly done. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.

Good morning Shirl, your bathroom is wonderful wall to wall. I love Americana but not as much as my daughter. She has all Americana in her entry way and her great room. I am looking forward to seeing more.

What an incredibly cheerful bathroom you have! I could easily see myslelf walking in there and grinning/smiling each day. It looks like a really spacious bathroom (lucky you!) and I have to say I have a favorite among all the treasures. That little rabbit with the red/white/blue bow around his neck.
Thanks for sharing and happy Blue Monday to you!
Enjoy your day!

Shirley, love your Americana bath. Wow, love the space you have in there to decorate! The louvered door beside the tub enclosure, is that a linen/towel closet? I love the look of that and the shelf built into the wall. Loved reading about your aunt's home. Oh my, to have all those treasures. You have so many pretty things Shirly, I always enjoy seeing your pictures! Hope your day is a great one!

Hi SHirl,
I am just over the top in love with your new bathroom design. Everything is perfect. You are so detailed in all you do and I love that.
Those curtains are so special and so hard to find today. They really pull the whole look together. All your American is fantastic. What a collection you have. My gosh the size of the room is a dream to have and decorate. I love the pedestal sink and that wall niche shelf is really fantastic. Your hubby did a marvelous job on it.

The wall color is really nice and keeps the eye on the decor and does not take away from the wonderful treasures. Thanks for saying I helped in that, but I think you knew the direction without my help sweets. You are one talented girl and it shows.

I must go back and view this room again. So many wonderful treasurs to view.
Looking forward to part 2.
Love ya, Celestina Marie
