PINK SATURDAY & VALENTINE BLESSINGS Feb. 12, 2011

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event!

I've missed you all, I've had so much going on here that I have not posted for the past two weeks. We had a major snow storm and our power was out for five days. My husband and I watch "Little House on the Praire" every evening after dinner and we love it, but let me tell you after going without power that long, I don't envy their life style at all! We have a generator but it only gives us two plugs so you have plug and unplug constantly. This was one happy gal when our power came back on. LOL

I also fell and hurt my back and my knee. The pain in my knee is not letting up so I guess I'm gonna have to give up and go to my Dr. to see what's up with it.

My son is on his journey home from Afghanistan. He should be in Wisconsin on Sunday and home in WV by the 18th. Hopefully by the time I post again we will have him back home with us.
It's been a long year and we are so thankful that he has made it through so far. Still holding our breath until he is safe at home.

For my pink this week I have a few more of my Valentine decortaions. A little cross stitch kitten all decked out in hearts and roses.

My kitchen window sill.

A little cross stitched goose in a candlestand that my daughter Jen painted roses on.

I painted these little figurines in the 70's, I still treasure them.

Another cross stitched Valentine.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it was great to visit with you. Good Lord willing my son will be home next week and I'll have some coming home pics.
Blessings, Shirl

Those Valentine figurines are "adorable" and you painted them yourself. You certainly are an excellent crafter. Happy Valentine's Day.

I am so sorry about your knee and I am glad that you are going to the doctor. You never know if you damaged something seriously.

I'm so happy to hear you son is on his way home. I'm sure you will let out a sigh of relief when he walks through your door.

I love all of your pretty needlework, Shirl. You do such a great job!

Good morning Shirley,

Beautiful pictures. I love looking at all the pretty things you have. I hope your knee is Ok. My hubby fell twice on the ice we had last week. It was very difficult to be out and not fall. Our power was only out for 20 hours. I am sure you were very happy to have your power back. I hope the days go by quickly until your son is back home. Have a great weekend!

Hi my friend, wow, you have so much going on in your life right now. I will be so happy when your son returns and you have him in your loving arms once again!!
He is a hero to us all, make sure you thank him for me.
I do hope you feel better soon. I know that falling can be so dangerous and want you to get checked out. Please keep us posted on your visit to the doctor.
Your table is lovely and I want to wish you a Happy Pink Saturday. Happy Valentine's Day too, Char
I am not participating this week in ps, too much going on but didn't want to miss your post.

Hi Shirl,
Love all your pinks and those little figurines you painted are darling. Your Valentine cross stitch pretties are just gorgoues. I love Jen's roses framed around the sweet duck cross stitch. Your displays are always so inspiring.

So sorry to hear you fell and hurt your back and knee. I hope you are better soon and go to the doctor if needed. My SIL feel on the ice in Michigan and broke her knee in half and had to have surgery. She is in a cast from her hip to ankle.

Yes, we have really had a cold and icy winter this year. I know you have too and I bet you where very glad when the power came back on. We had rolling black outs in our area.

Many prayers for your son coming home. I know you are so excited. Prayers for your grandson too. God bless them both and always our deepest thanks for serving our country.

So nice to see you Shirl and thank you for entering my giveaway.
Hellos to Jen too.
Love and hugs from Texas,
Celestina Marie

Oh my gosh, I am SOOOO happy to read about your Son. I think about you and him often. I finally updated my blog tonight and decided to try to visit some of my favorite places. What a blessing that he is headed home. I am so very happy for all of you. Matthew still has until June in Iraq. His wife is moving to Hawaii next week to get a job and set up a house for them, I am so happy she will be there when he returns. He is hoping to come home for a visit in August. Still keeping you all in my prayers.
Hugs,
Kathy

Praise the Lord, you son is coming home safely. My son was there right after 9/11. He too came home safe. He is now in the AF reserves. Love your blog. Am your newest follower. Know this is late, thought I finished all the guests but apparently lots more came after I left, lol. Blessings

Hi Shirley,

Thank you for your sweet comment on my potholders. I just love those vintage ones. You asked about my hubby falling on the ice. Luckily he was not hurt. The first fall skinned his palm a bit, the second fall didn't hurt anything. He was lucky! Your son will be home in two days! Have a wonderful reunion. Please thank him for his service from me and my family. blessings to all of you!
