TEA PARTY

Hello and welcome to my "Tea Party" hosted by "Jan & Tom's Place", be sure to stop by their blog to get a list of all the participates.

Come on in I was just relaxing on the lounge chair reading and do some needlework. So glad you could make it! I thought we would have tea on the porch, it's such a beautiful day today. Please feel free to click on the pics and see a larger pic.

Have a seat and I will get the tea!

The pretty journal and Bless This Nest basket came from my PRH sister Rhea from Miss Rhea's.
Have you ever had pie crust cookies? They are so light and crisp with cinnamon sugar, so yummy!

Or maybe some lemon iced sugar cookies. The pretty rose plate that the lemon cookies are on came from my sweet friend Steph of Angelic Accents. She has wonderful Flea Market Fridays.

How about a slice of chocolate cake with pretty pansies?

Maybe some nice sweet grapes?

A bears tea party done in cross stitch.

There's more room over here at the ice cream palor table.

My sister Elizabeth from Rose Hart Gifts sent me this pretty tea set. It's my favorite one!

The pretty little rose plate below I got from my sweet friend Steph from Angelic Accents.

My daughter Jen from Jen's Petal Palace painted this cake board.

I made this tea-time wreath just in time for my tea party.

Pretty pink roses, my favorite.

Now look at this silly cat, this is Bentley, he is enjoying the sunny day! He's my baby!

Let's take a walk around and see what's in bloom. This is the first year that my hydrangea bloomed. I don't have any luck with the blue one's. I have some but they don't bloom. Too cold here I guess.

I love black eyed susans and just planted some blue love in a mist with them. Hopefully next year they will bloom together.

Hosta's are just now starting to bloom. You can see their spikes shooting up.

Eventually this will be all paths and garden areas. Two seating areas one with
Adirondack chairs and another with a porch swing.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my little tea party! Please come back again. Thank you to Jan & Tom's Place for hosting this tea party, it was fun!

Blessings, Shirl

Shirl!!!! What a LOVELY Tea Party! So much to see and look at and comment on - I love the Bless This Nest Basket, all the Tea Sets and pretty rose plates, Chocolate Cake, Cookies, the Bear's Tea Party in Cross Stitch and the Tea Party Wreath!!!

The hydrangeas are gorgeous!! The blue ones are finicky - don't do anything at all to them in fall. Just let them WINTER the way they were at the 1st frost of the fall. In spring, wait til you have LOTS of green leaves on the plant and then cut off about 1/2 of the length of the bare sticks on the plant. Up here in Michigan, I did that the first week of June. These babies bloom off of OLD growth the MOST and if you did what I did to them the 1st year ~ cut them to the ground at the end of the season ~ I had NO blooms til the end of summer! Now, we have TONS of blooms this year!!!!

Hope that works!

Glad you had your Tea Party!!!

~Blessings,
Jan

Good morning, Shirl, and oh how I've enjoyed your lovely tea party! Yours is my favorites so far! You have such beautiful things, too! I love the little vintage tea towel with the victorian lady on it and that sweet little vintage tablecloth on your ice cream table (not to mention the gorgeous tea set on it). Do I see decorated sugar cubes? I've never seen anything like that before. Again, more things I just love - your green ruffled pot holder (well, tea holder), th beautiful tea wreath you made (you're very creative), your gorgeous flowers and most of all - BENTLEY! What a little precious. Chloe Dawn would have a ball chasing him around your garden. Thanks for the lovely time. You're invited to come to my tea party today, too!

I just adore your china and table scaping. You have such a talented family with all of your crafts; your wreath is amazing, what a great idea!
I thought mine was the only family that made pie crust cookies. I haven't had one since my great-aunt died 20 years ago, because no one else makes pie, either.

Wow, Shirl!! Lovely tea party. What a great yard you have to host it in.

If you change the acidity in your soil, you can make your hydrangias blue or pink.

Enjoyed your post and the photos are breathtaking!

I loved all the different colors on your tea table! It just looks so inviting. I enjoyed the rest of your blog too and realized that this tea party has allowed me to meet some great bloggers and see some great blogs too. Also, I see that you are a cross stitcher! I was an avid stitcher at one time, but have just about given it up now that I don't see as well as I once did. I'm going to add your blog to my favorite blogs too if that's okay with you.

Hi Shirl! I'm so glad you stopped for a visit! I love your blog; so many pretty things to look at! I feel the need to stitch something everytime I see a pile of floss or a project being worked on like in your pic. I need to finish a cross stitch of teapots I purchased seven years ago; I have maybe 2 months of work left so I think you just inspired me to get it out! I love making wreaths too and love the one you finished in time for the party! I hope you will stop in again. If I had your property I would need to be outside all the time and off the computer - it is GORGEOUS! Have a great day - Jeannette
