PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you visit her you can get a list of all the other participants. Oh what pinkness you will find there!

As you can see from the pic above we had more snow in WV this week. It was a cold and windy snow and coverd the table on my porch. My porch does not usually take the elements like this. I can put quilts and needlework out there and it's not usually affected.

Now on to some pinkness. You might remember my Fenton vintage shoe that I made into a pincushion. I sell them HERE in my ETSY SHOP. I was using one of these at my quilt guild and some friends and asked me if I could make some of their vintage treasures into pincushions. Of course I said yes, and I'd thought you'd like to see the finished results.

The one below is mine, I started making them 2 years ago and make them in any color and type shoe I can find.

Below is one that I made for my friend. She had this pretty swan from her husband's Aunt that she wanted to have made and keep for her Granddaughter.
I made the little pins using Swarovski crystals.

The next two are not pink but I thought you like to see them. Look how cute. I wanted to make her some pins using Mary Engelbreit beads but never got to a store that sold them. When I do I will make her some. These are made in vintage 40's plastics.

Below is a pretty special order tag that I had an order to make. Still have 8 more to make on this order.

Look how cute this little fella is. He's not mine, but he thinks he lives here. Has made himself quite at home! He found his way in through the dog door. Tomorrow my husband is taking the dog door out and putting in a new one that locks and only the dog can open it with her magnetic tag on her collar. We had a raccoon come in this winter and that's a little too much for me. She was a very nice raccoon and made herself at home too. We trapped her and her babies and relocated her further out into the country.
This cat actually belongs to my son who lives about 1/2 mile back into my farm. He seems to like Grandma's house!

That's all my pinkness for today. Thank you so much for stopping by! It was so nice to visit with you! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I'll be crafting and decorating this weekend. Were supposed to get more snow and it's a cold 6 degrees right now so it will be a good time to stay home craft and make a big pot of soup!
Blessings to ya! Shirl

Those pin cushions are divine. I have a swan very similar to that one. The cat is so cute and she just wanted a nice warm place to land. To funny about the raccoons.

Hi Shirl,

What lovely photos! And what a great idea for pincushions. There were so many wonderful little glass pieces produced by Fenton (and other companies) and people just don't seem to know what to do with them nowadays!

Are little flowers that adorn the satin cushion vintage? They are adorable.

I'd send some warm weather your way, but unfortunately it's grey and wet here in Issaquah (Seattle). Big surprise, huh!

Thanks for sharing your great photos! Have a nice weekend.

Shirl, your little shoe pin cushions are adorable. I love the SRE and the other special "Shirl" touches you add, like the Swarovski crystal-topped pins and the pretty little seam binding bows! Your tags are the prettiest I've ever seen! Jen's bday gifts on her blog from you are so pretty and just the perfect color for her. Your grandkitty is pretty darn cute, too! What is that behind him to the far right on the shelf ~ looks like a hp canvas cover? Love how your faux sweets look so yummy in the glass cloches!

Happy PS!

Your grand-cat is sooooo cute! And the pin cushions you made are awesome. You know, I collect those cat shoes (hobnail ones) and saw a white one just like that one at our fav antiques shop today. The bright red and yellows ones are so cute, too. DH bought me one a while back in a sagey green that I just love. I had no idea they came in other colors. Great work, Shirl! Oh, and happy Pink Saturday~

I ♥ to come here on Pink Saturday. Your blog is always so sweet and comforting. Cold and gloomy winter up here this year so Pink Saturday is one day I can always count on for a little pink ray of sunshine.

I think that little kitty needs to come with with his Grandma!

Thanks for being my pink sunshine today☺

Wishing you the comfort and warmth of those you love this weekend.
