PINK SATURDAY

Hello and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of the many participants. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

Today for my pinkness I have this very pretty (diamond in the rough) cross stitched thrift store find. As soon as I saw this adorble Victorian Lady doing embroidery I knew I just had to bring her home.
She was not looking very pretty at the time. She was very dark and dingy, looked like maybe the fabric she was stitched on was tea stained. I bought her anyway thinking I could take her out of the frame, soak her in some Tide and she would brighten up.

Well to my surprise when I took her out of the frame I could see that she was stitched on pink fabric and the fabric had been painted a beige color. Never saw anyone do that before but I was thrilled after soaking it for two days it came out just as pink and pretty as can be.

Below is the state she was in when I purchased her from the thrift store.

She cleaned up nice didn't she? I also gave her frame a nice white wash and a little sanding and I'm very pleased with the results. Now she will have a home in my new sewing room. (still in the making)LOL

A few closeups.

This pretty little Bearington Bear was a gift from my son a few years back.

Look at the sweet little kitty by her feet.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I enjoyed our visit. Have a wonderful week!
Blessings to ya, Shirl

Love your sweet vignette for today, Shirl. I can't believe someone put in that much work on that cross-stitch and painted the background! She is lovely. Love your faux foods and velvet strawberries, too! Did Jen make the food? Please give her hugs for me.

Love you,
STephanie

Hi Shirl :) What a great find ! If I saw this lovely cross-stitched lady I would have taken her home too, and how perfect it was done on a pink background!! Someone was crazy to have painted it that horrid brown!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy belated pink day. What a lovely picture - how odd the beige paint. But great it all came out. Love it.
