A VERY PINK 4TH OF JULY & BLUE MONDAY

Hello, Happy Blue Monday, I've linked up with Sally today for Blue Monday because my 4th of July/Pink Saturday post has alot of blue that I would love to share with you.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!!!!

Welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. If you go to visit her you can get a list of all the other pink participants. Thank you Beverly for hosting this fun event.

It's been a very busy week around here at the Cottage. My son Bob is home on a two week leave from Afghanistan, and my oldest grandson Joey is getting ready to leave for his basic training with the Navy. My lifelong friend Joan and her husband Doug (also my grandson's Godparents) are here from NJ to see them both off. We have been having such a great visit. My daughter Jen, her husband and my three grandsons have also been spending alot of time with us.

My son has been stopping by for coffee in the morning and of course I fix his favorite breakfasts for him! I'm so glad to have the summer off and I'm able to be here for him. I will treasure these moments after he goes back. Hopefully he will be done and back home in Jan.

Here's my two handsome boys. Love you both!

Next I have some pinkie 4th of July pics from around the cottage.

My husband and my son bought me these vintage wicker chairs a few years ago. They are the softest shade of green. I just love them.

Blue love in a mist.

A cute wreath that I made a few years ago using a Brandywine Cottage.

Of course some cross stitch.

A yummy cake with some of my altered art on top.

My under construction foyer decorated for the occasion.

Some closeups of ornaments I made for the occasion.

My old green chair.

I wish you all a wonderful 4th of July. Thank you so much for stopping by, I enjoyed our visit.

Blessings to ya, Shirl

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY AND HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY SHIRL,
WHAT A GIFT FOR THE HOLIDAY...A PRICELESS GIFT TO HAVE YOUR SON HOME FOR THE FOURTH. HOW AWESOME. TAKE HUNDREDS OF PICTURES. I LOVE THE TAG YOU MADE WITH HIS PICTURE ON IT...THAT WOULD BE AWESOME TO MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THAT AS A BUTTON AND PEOPLE COULD PUT IT ON THEIR BLOG TO REMEMBER HIM IN PRAYER AND ANY OF THE OTHER BLOGGING MOTHERS OR WIVES COULD DO THE SAME. I LOVE ALL YOUR DECORATIONS. I KEEP A FOURTH OF JULY TREE UP ALL YEAR ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOURS...MINE IS GREEN...I THINK I WILL TAKE IT ALL APART AND SPRAY PAINT IT WHITE. I CANNOT PASS UP A PATRIOTIC ORNAMENT.

Hi dear Shirl..
What a gorgeous post..I loved everything. And just a few minutes ago,the mailman brought me a lovely box..and I heard rustleing inside. I got the box almost opened..and to my surprise, out popped the most adorable, beautiful tiny bunny that I've ever seen. I will try desperately to show little bunny on Mondays post...*big smiles
Will you do me a favor. Will you give your son and grandson a big hug from me..and tell them thank you..from the bottom of my heart.
Thank them for putting their life on the line each hour of each day and keeping our country safe. It seems as though a simple thank you is so little..and yet,it comes with love and gratitude. Thank you guys..you may never know how much you are loved and appreciated.
And p.s. You're both just as handsome as can be..:).
Happy Pinks and Have a safe and happt 4th.

Happy Pink Saturday Shirl Sweetie...
What a beautiful job of decorating you have done getting ready for the festivities. It is so wonderful to have so many of you together for this occasion. Your son being home is wonderful. I love the decorations that you made for your tree. The one of your son is especially over the top gorgeous.

Your cake looks so yummy. I love the cake topper that you made. It is priceless. I could take a seat in the backyard chair and enjoy the festivities with you, they look so inviting.

Have a wonderful reunion with all of the family. I will keep your "Boys" in my prayers. God Bless them both.

Have a wonderful holiday sweetie. Country hugs...Sherry

what a very delightful blog to look at and how very blessed you are to have your son home for a visit. I pray everyday - many times - for our troops and for their safe return. I will be 80 on my birthday and grew up in very patriotic times. I have a buffet completely done in my side entryway of nothing but red, white and blue as a salute to our troops. I do not intend to change it until they all come home. It is a MUST that we pray for our country and all of our wonderful young men and women fighting so hard for the freedoms we have...Blessings to you and your family.....Pauline

Hi Shirl,
Oh what a wonderful post for the
4th. I am so glad you have your son home for 2 weeks. What a great pic of your boys. Love your gardens, those gorgeous green wicker chairs and all your patriotic pretties are so special. I love your porch displays and the canning jar hanging with the flower and flag is so cute.
As always I adore all your lovely cross stitched pretties.

Enjoy your time with your family and son. My prayers will be with him as he heads back out again. I hope the time goes quickly when he will be home again.

Love to you and big hugs and hello to Jen.

Blessings, Celestina Marie
